He talks and talks and talks (rarely about the subject) but he's the funniest prof I've ever had, the only reason I go to class actually. His tests have nothing to do with what we did in class so they're actually hard. After the very last class in the course, I still have no idea even the letter grade I have in his class so.

Dr. West is a nice guy but he just lectures and talks about his own opinions. Oblivious and gets off track every class. I felt that I learned absolutely nothing. The other classes for ECON 152 were extremely intensive and this class was far from that. I felt disserviced. All he talked about was McDonalds & India.

Super easy A. Dr. West is a great professor and very funny! I don't see why anyone would get anything less than an A in his class. Try and you will surely pass.

Very easy professor. Only has 2-3 graded test throughout the semester and they're very simple. Don't worry to much about the niceties of the course work, most of whats on the exams is just common sense to some degree. He goes over current events every day in the WSJ and Bloomberg. Show up and be respectful and you'll be fine. Really nice guy.

Pretty good, go through current event a lot, but I like current events. textbook are somewhat used but just go to class and take note is better than try to learn from textbook.

He's a great guy! Always available to help. I took his class over the summer at Lehigh University and I left actually understanding Economics and not just striving for a good grade.

I took a summer ECO 1 class at Lehigh with him. He is really straight forward with what is going to be on his tests and he has NO HOMEWORK. He is a really nice guy and always tries to crack jokes, but they aren't very good.. lol. Take his ECO 1 class instead of doing it online, he knows what he is talking about!

Great guy; bad professor. While he's affable, interesting, and insightful, he runs his classes inappropriately. Instead of lecturing on the actual material of the course, he chooses to spend the entire (or most of) the class discussing current events. However, the tests are almost entirely based on the material he was supposed to cover in class.

I don't think enough could be said about how smart James West is. He really is great at what he does, though at some points he does lose out, especially on grading. He's great to listen to though and you do learn a lot.

**Current events act as the facade through which (int'l) management and economic principles are exemplified.** He strays from textbook verbatim. Dr.West is a hardened businessman and manager with a chameleon like softness in teaching. He passes pearls of managerial wisdom on to students. Learn if you like be damned if you like. Your choice.

This professor is extremely personable and is up-to-date on current events. His experiences traveling around the world really enhance his lessons and aid in student understanding. His teaching style is lecture, but very entertaining. However, watch out for the tests - make sure to study. Overall, really a great person and educator.

Dr. West is a highly intelligent professor who is extremely knowledgeable in the field of Economics. He makes the material relatable to students and really tries to effectively communicate his points. Although, he grades fairly - the class timeline changes frequently and its very difficult to follow along.Tests are easy, but beware for the final.

Dr. West is a nice guy, but his class was hard to do well in. The material on his tests is sometimes stuff we've never ever talked about or read about. So myself, and those I sat around, got C's. He expects a lot from an Intro class. If you're really good at reading graphs, you'll be okay...
