No bad vibes from this professor. The material is no cake walk. Read modules weekly, read (yes, actually read the FREE book- homework is made a thousand times easier this way), do abstract (one paragraph post; respond to one other person) and take test bi-weekly. Rinse, repeat. Low maintenance and no surprises, but do take notes for reference!!

Janet Orr is a sweet lady but her class was hard for me. Homework is like 5% of your grade and tests are 75% if you dont pass her tests you wont pasd the class. Her tests are really hard. Especially the graphing.

Test are worth 75% of your grade, there are only 3 test, and one final. Good Luck. Overall she is a nice teacher. Takes forever to grade the final project, but other than that she's reasonable. Global econ wasn't so bad

In her full semester online class, expect weekly assignments from the textbook. Also, she does a sort of current event assignment from an economic standpoint every other week, so participation is necessary. Also, her tests are nothing to take lightly, so taking good notes is a must. Finally, we had one group project. There was no midterm.

Online. Tests aren't hard as much as long and very in depth in a short time period (50?'s 60min). It's not vocabulary questions, it's a lot of word problems and critical thinking questions based on the class concepts. Free textbook. Do the homework and do all the assignments. Study a lot for the tests.

I really enjoyed this class. Professor Orr was more than fair to students; she even offered make up work if you didn't do well the first time or didn't bother to do it at all, in an effort to allow students to succeed in her class. Had that in high school. What current students need to realize is this time your paying for it, do the work.

She's a great teacher. She cares more about her students understanding the concepts then she does about "grades." That said, don't think you're going to go in, listen to the lecture and pass. You have to read and study to do well. It's not a class to slack on.

I am surprised to see so many good comments about her! She is a very nice teacher. However, her class was hard. 1/3 of my class had to withdrew that class. She has everything in her head, but we couldn't understand what she was trying to explain.

I took this as a hybrid course and I thought it would be easy, and I was wrong. She doesn't do a good job explaining things. She is VERY boring and monotone. However, she is very fair when it comes to grading and provides good amount of extra credit.

This is a very good teacher. If you have to decide between econ 2105 and 2106, without hesitation take 2106. It's so much easier, and deals with econ on an individual level which is much more understandable.

Is genuinely interested not only in economics but making sure that her students understand what is going on in the economy. Homework is easy, but make sure you study for the tests--they're fine if you understand your subject matter. Her lectures can be somewhat boring due to her monotonous voice, but she is a very good teacher. I highly recommend.
