If you don't plan to work for this class than you don't plan to pass that class at all... I swear, do all the homeworks asked to do after the class and you'll easily be above average as my friends and I did... The prof is serious, passionate and funny and it was a pleasure having him as a professor

Comment:

Excellent prof, le cours du mercredi matin était mon moment préféré dans la semaine. Le cours à la base est demandant, mais ses lectures nous incitent à écouter dans le cours. Il est important de noter que le cours de finance 2200 requièrent de faire ses devoirs si on veut obtenir un bon score.

Un prof motivé qui aime ce qu'il fait. Sa façon de faire rend son cours vraiment intéressant. C'est Finance, pas le choix de travailler et mettre les efforts, mais si tu fais tes devoirs et les exercices de préparation aux examens, tu vas avoir ton A.

Le meilleur professeur de Finance que je n'ai jamais eu! Drôle, interessant et très très sérieux. Si tu ne compte pas travailler dur dans son cours "Gestion de portefeuille" tu obtiendras certainement un C ou B. Ce professeur m'a permis de beaucoup apprendre sur la finance et m'a encouragé a m'impliquer encore plus dans ce meme domaine.

So dear HEC students, if you don't want to fail that class, change the teacher, DO NOT TAKE JEAN PHILIPPE TARTE. He is the worst of the worst, he will make ur GPA go to 0. Ruinner of GPA

Quand tu mets des échecs à tout le monde, cela ne te fais aucun mal parce que nous sommes seulement tes élèves. Mais pense à tes enfants, imagine que tu vois tes enfants étudier très fort et ils reviennent en pleurant parce qu'ils ont couler. Comment tu vas te sentir? un peu de compassion je te demande, juste un peu.

I dont know how in the name of God you got your CFA??? Maybe because u were lucky and you got good and undestanding teachers ( well teachers who were exactly the opposite of you). I must agree with the fact that finance is not easy, but u make it like HELL. When u put a 0, think a bit, if the student did something on the papier, give him a 1/10

Good professor. JP explains well the course and the basic things about finance and maths. Sometimes he misses some professionalism, for example he doesn't answer to emails or does it very short.

You either love him or you hate him. In my case, I loved him as a teacher. May appear intimidating at first but very helpful and approachable. Best word to describe him: fair. He expects you to work, as you should if you want to get anywhere in life. Kind of gives the feel of survival of the fittest but once again, fair.

He is very efficient for making you to hate finance and particularly portfolio management! I still ask me why HEC recruit such people as professor when much better ones are looking for the same job. He had the chance, you know!

Clairement à éviter, c'est le pire prof que j'ai jamais eu. Au début je croyais que j'allais aimer la finance, mais finalement ce professeur me l'a fait détester. Je suis persuadé qu'il connais sa matière mais il la transmet vraiment très mal. Il me paraît arrogant. Il est souvent hors-sujet. Les examens ne sont pas représentatifs de la matière.

Comment:

When asked about exam, he glosses over things like it were a pina colada. Then, the exam is on material not covered in class. He created the DESS program and his course in which he "teaches" his own BS. So he's pretty much got it set at HEC with his pension which he talks so much about! Strongly recommend to avoid this teacher.

Le prof le plus inutile du monde! Il fait que lire les acetates dans le cours de gestion de portefeuille et il le fait mal et partiellement sans rien expliquer. Sa correction est digne d'un sado maso qui deteste ses etudiants. Le gars a jamais travaille dans la finance pis l'enseigne mal. Ce que je dis tout le monde le dis a HEC. Evitez le!!
