GREAT PROFESSOR Whoever is complaining about him clearly didnt pay attention or attend class. Intuitive calc is a BREEZE, just study and pay attention Do the extra credit Exams are based on quizzes and he gives a TON of extra credit on them I got over 100% on them

This is probably the worst teacher that I have ever had. He assigns like 3 homework assignments a night that take 5 hours a piece because he doesn't explain the material that well. He doesn't explain all the steps to get from point a to point b. A tutor is important to getting at the most a C. He also assigns homework due after the final exam.

I had Schlaerth for modeling algebra. He does a great job. He actually goes through an example before giving you the rule or theorem, which makes understanding it easy. MML is helpful because it lets you know if you are learning the material correctly. He provides several examples for bonus especially by doing the reviews. Do the MML, do the reviews, and you will be fine.

I'm taking him for Calc III. He's a nice guy and all but don't EVER expect to get your homework graded or given back. He is very unorganized. I also learn better by examples and he mostly talks and explains theorems and gives only one example. Overall, not so great.

If you learn by copying notes - avoid him. His writing is scribbles, he can't even read it. He is an o.k. teacher but he is always a few minutes late for class and keeps you a few minutes over. He also does not make study guides at all. I say avoid at all costs.

Schlaerth is an incredibly nice guy and he has pretty hilarious t-shirts. He is lenient on grading and is very laid-back in general. He is very knowledgeable and his intelligence exceeds the basic concepts taught. Definitely take him if you must take the course.

Schlaerth was one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He was fairly easy, but still gave challenging material to help strengthen your skill. He proves material too, which helps you understand it.

He was not excessively easy. He made you think and do your own work. He tries if you try, he isn̢۪t going to keep you from failing but if you ask he will do all he can. He was as accommodating and he could be. He isn̢۪t uberclear about everything he will try to explain it a few different ways for you.

He does a good job for being a grad student who is only majoring in math ....and not education. It may be a little boring...because hey, it's math but he is very passionate about it and fun. He is also an extremely fair teacher and always makes time if you need help. Go to review sessions and class will be easy.
