He may be a good actor, but, not a good teacher. I Like acting. I put more time and effort into this class than I did for a 5 unit upper-division chemistry course. It is clear that his grades are based on your acting skills, not effort. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE AS A GE REQUIREMENT. Only take this class if your are already a really good actor.

Oh this professor will be greatly missed. What a marvelous person!! Class was mondatory, notes were necessary, but he made it so interesting and fun. Great teacher, sadly this was his last semester teaching voice and diction. He's a funny man, but takes the knowledge he imparts on his students seriously. You lose Ribeiro points if So show up and learn from a talented teacher!

He is so funny! I love the way he talks and teaches! I was excited to come to the class everyday. He taught me a lot just by showing us how its done and he is definatly an actor! Always good to learn from someone who knows what they r doing!

Excellent, brilliant director,actor who helps with acting, understanding and appreciating teaching and theater. Learn from one who knows and does, is passionate. High expectations, treats students like adults, tho not all students are up to this. READ the plays! Learn your lines.

Ribeiro clearly outlines his point system: Attendance, participation, being prepared, obvious time-on-task (for the theater review) rate more than "talent." Ribeiro's an extremely well-educated man with an extraordinary background. Reading classic plays isn't easy: show up, put your cell phone away, pay attention, take notes, and do your best.

Definitely an actor. Thats it. Not a teacher. Didnt really learn anything. Usually spaced out during class because it was so boring. You basically just have to go because he takes role daily. Otherwise I would never have gone. Pointless class, thankfully it was cheap.

Ribeiro is a really funny teacher. It's hard to know your grade in the class because there is really no assignments. There is one presentation if front of the class, a review of a play and the final. He is knowledgeable, but seems to jump around a bit.

he was awful! he goes on rants and raves and is not at all present in his class. he uses his classes as a stage to perform his opinions and is unconscious and uninterested in helping his students. unless you are an actor or actress he will probably never notice you're in his class.

Best actor and fun prof, inspiring, caring, and talented. Only 'hard' if you want a class with no reading or books--change your major from theater! Fun when you show up and if you do even half the work you would do another academic class--do your part and enjoy the best show in town with the best actor.

Definitely knows his craft, and never holds back his opinion. He's a lot of fun and is hilarious. He has a tendency to pick favorites. He knows he's a good actor, so his ego is large. His instructions aren't always clear, but he grades easily. He has a tendency to get off track, but it's fun when he does. he's an experience you won't soon forget.

One of the absolute best acting professors anybody could ask for. He's blunt and to the point and won't sugar coat how you perform. Brutally honest, but in a constructive way. Offers advice if you're willing to get up and get it. If you're serious about the class, he'll be the best teacher you could ever have. Highly recommened!

Ribeiro is HILARIOUS...great teacher, definitely worth taking a class with him if you haven't. He makes his expectations clear and he knows how to keep the classes attention. He is also highly intelligent, he knows about 7 languages and a whole buncha history and is well cultured, a very smart cookie, as it were.
