Such a nice guy who genuinely cares. Essay questions are tough, but there aren't any pointless pop quizzes. You still have to read though because participation is mandatory if you want a good grade.

I took his class for Lit freshman year and he was amazing. He is v nice and cares abt his students, and doesn't swamp you with busywork, pop quizzes, etc. The essay questions r not easy, and he is not the easiest grader, but if you talk/email him w ideas he will help you a lot. I really loved the way he ran class, and would reccomend him 10/10.

He was one of the nicest professors Ive had. Immediately, you can tell how passionate he is about his job, which is great when it comes to discussions and asking questions. Hes also very understanding and helpful, so dont be afraid to introduce yourself. Would take again.

The entire time I was taking his class I thought he was incredibly unqualified to do his job. He was teaching Ovid without knowing anything about Greek or Latin language or myth. He basically just memorized a wiki page of facts and made assumptions. He forces you to change your writing entirely without reading your essays. Dont take his class.

Amazing, inspiring teacher. The work load was manageable but engaging, and I throughly enjoyed the readings. His class was totally discussion based, with four outside of class papers. Participation really matters, but he creates an environment in which students feel comfortable and supported in sharing their thoughts. Fantastic professor!
