Definitely recommend this class! It goes into cancer at the cellular & molecular level. Dr. Drath is a great teacher! No powerpoints & he rarely wrote on the board, so quickly write everything he says or record. I didn't record, just studied everything I wrote down & got an A in the class. Only a 400 point class, but extra credit! And office hours!

Recording lecture is highly recommended. 3 total Exams: Multiple choice AND "multiple- multiple choice" along with 1-2 short answer & an essay. Don't buy book. Great lecturer. Basically, memorize what he says. One shall not fear the wrath of Drath if you just study the material. If you get an A on the first 2 exams, no final for you!

Very good professor to take. As usual for any bio major be ready to study and put in the effort to get a good grade. However, if you need assistance he is there for you. A voice recorder is a must and also stay on top of things.

Dr. Drath is one of my all time favorite professors! He is a tough but fair grader, his test essay questions can be vague but just write everything you possibly can. You MUST attend lecture as there are no power points, or text. He is EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgable, the lecture is very interesting and I highly recommend him.

TAKE HIM! You'd be a total idiot to not take this professor. I had him last fall & he is extremely clear on what he expects his students to know. You have to record his lectures and listen to them later. Super nice during office hours and you can tell he wants you to do well. I've never had a professor at CSUF care so much about their students.

RECORD THE LECTURES! He expects his students to know everything he says, and sometimes what was focused on in lecture was not was the test primarily covered. He is extremely passionate about immunology, and he definitely knows his stuff. For his essay questions, write down everything you could think of that relates to it to get max points.

I did not receive any of his old exams, & I did fine. I had him for Biology of Cancer, Immunology, and Biological Internship. He's a brilliant professor with so much wisdom & knowledge to impart. Probably the only time I utilized office hours. He's great to talk to, he's lighthearted, & extremely helpful. If you did poorly, it's your problem.

He uses the same exams year after year. If you do not know another student who had taken the class before, prepare to do triple the work. Recording each lecture is a must! I received an A but I do not recommend this Harvard graduate. He will put you down if you attempt to talk to him outside class and does not reply to e-mails. No quizes or HW.

Knows his materials. His lecture style:does not stop talking but dont be intimidated:the big concepts are evident, and he drones on about those big concepts.if you want an A,i suggest you read the relevant sections. its not an 'amazing' class-just another bio class with emphasis in immuno. he is an old prof:ask around for notes from previous semester

Don't even buy the book save yourself time and money! just record his lecture study from the power point and lecture notes and that's it! you'll get a B for sure! If you want an A you better be able know what to write right after reading the question as time will probably determine your grade in the class...wish i had a typewriter!

Don't listen to anyone who tells you how hard this class is and everything. He seems intimidating at first, but if you maintain a healthy habit of study with this course you will more than likely do well in the course. Remember each 1/3 is lectured around a certain theme and those are usually the major essay questions. Good luck.

Definitely an amazing class, worth every minute in lecture. I think the only times I fell asleep or daydreamed were the days when I'd come straight from graveyard shift at work...hard class, tests are LONG and dreary, but overall, the best experience I've had taking a bio class at CSUF.

This is the second time I've taken Dr. Drath (for Immunology and for Cancer courses- got A's in both!). Again, you need to ask questions, really pay attention, study like mad and there is a major "theme" for his tests. You also need to study EVERYDAY for his tests- do not fall behind; rewrite your notes and you'll get that coveted A!Good luck!

He's tough but fair, but very tough but it is 400 level. He's helpful and approachable but only if you go to him, (ask questions before & after class) but is very busy due to other duties. You'll need to memorize all of the lecture & reading material to get a good grade so be ready to work, cuz you will.

Dr. Drath's Immuno class is very intense! You have to go to his office hours, pay attention, understand what he wants you to know- basically, there's a "theme" for each test so be alert! it helps to rewrite your notes over again and you'll get a feel for how he wants you to be prepared- work hard and you will do fine! one of 2 students to get A's!

He's good & fair but tough, very tough. You have to work your but off in this class but then again it is a 400. He's helpful & very approachable before & after class but is very busy out of class. All you need is in the notes & book but be sure to study them good! Backwards & forwards too.
