Straightforward and resourceful. Classes are fun and intriguing. She isn't a professor who tries to weed out her students and make the lagging ones fail. Rather, she helps anyone interested as much as she could despite traditional grading ettiquette (so as long as you put some effort and maybe enthusiasm, you'll do great).

SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER EVERRRR!!! I love her class. Even though it was a bit confusing at times on learning certain words with the hiragana, the class was worth it. She is such a wonderful person and teacher. She's so funny and really wants her students to get good grades. And she's a BIG help whenever you have quizzes or exams.

LOVED THIS CLASS! So much fun! So interesting. Prof. Herring is a riot! She makes class a lot of fun and she is hillarious! I learned so much and was so glad to have taken Japanese!

This was an easy A for someone who is not normally good at language classes. This is one of the best classes I have ever taken. Japanese is alot easier then most think. I am considering doing the exchange program to Japan now. Thank you Sensei.

She is a very cool teacher! Hehe it's a neat class... some kids think it's hard... but if you love the Japanese culture and consider this an interest more than a class you will have a BLAST. Highly recommended--URI's only nihongo sensei.

Really good, teaches very well. Once you learn the Hiragana (which isn't NEARLY as bad as you would think) the tests and the rest of the work is pritty easy. :)
