Be prepared to attend class. If you miss more than a "week's worth" (2 classes for Tues/ Thurs. for ex", you begin to receive penalty for it. She gives good feedback on assignments, but is a picky grader. Her lectures are so boring, and she goes on and on talking about nothing. Definitely uses up all of the class time when not necessary.

Shes so nice! She provides a very laid back environment and is very understanding. Her classes can be boring, due to content, but she is very good at explaining and showing what she expects. She grades fair and lets you revise papers if necessary. I got an A on all three, and really felt like Ive improved my writing. Wish I could take her for 160!

As english teachers go she was pretty good. That doesn't mean this was a good class though. It's all based around one research paper and god is that the dumbest thing. She repeats the same thing over and over. She gives helpful feedback and gives papers back quickly. Not great but I did totally fine in this class so, whatever.

Comment:

Very intense and demanding, however I still managed to get a 4.0 by some miracle. Very picky with APA, however prepares you well for writing papers for the rest of college. You will definitely learn something in her class, however it may be the hard way.

She is an amazing teacher! She goes into detail in each unit and really strives to have every student pass. She offers revisions, and she doesn't grade too hard. She does randomly call on students, but it helped me stay engaged in class and actually learn the material. One of the best english teachers I've had in years. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Professor Kietlinska is an awesome professor. She does everything she can to allow students to pass. I learned so much from her, which helped me grow as a writer. She gives great feedback and offers revisions on the three graded papers. Would definitely like to have her as a teacher again. 10/10 recommended!!

Although I didn't like the material we talked about in class, I felt that she was a fair grader. The only thing I don't like about her class is the vague directions and very little points for the overall GPA grade. As someone who is very particular to maintain a high GPA it was very hard to do so in this class due to the little amount of points.

DON'T TAKE HER: She grades papers based on her writing "rules" only, so if you want to get creative with your writing, don't. She talks too much, asks a lot of hard, one-sided, specific questions, and calls on random, vulnerable-looking students to answer them. I thought I could become a writer one day before meeting her. Now? I hate writing.

I took AP Language and Composition in high school, but learned so much more in this class. Prof Kietlinska challenges you to think critically& learn to communicate your own thoughts effectively. She's willing to clarify things and help you further grow as a writer. Really nice lady! Always bring your books as they sometimes count as points.

She is not helpful and assumes her students know things that they do not. She does not read essays that are graded first, she critiques them as she reads, resulting with irrelevant comments. This professor looks at things like "her way or no way" and I would not recommend her to anyone.

She is tough to understand, not by her accent, but by the fact that she assumes a freshman has a knowledge of the subject the same as a senior. She is a decent person but I can't say i like her as a prof.

I went from being an okay writer in high school to getting just passing grades on papers. there were about 4 or 5 essay and online homework that the grades were made up of. during class she would talk about things that didn't relate to what we were learning about and was not clear on the homework and what was expected on the homework.

She is the worst professor I have ever had. She never informs you of homework, grades extremely hard, and I unbearably annoying. Only take her if she is the only teacher left and even if she is wait until next semester to take 160 with a different teacher. She is horrible and you will hate you life if you take her class

One of the best professors I had. She will help you learn some of the tools that will take your writing to the next level. She grades tough but fair, she offers a chance to re-write each of the 4 major papers. If you pay attention and try hard you can get a good grade.

Prof. K will actually teach you how to write well and academically. She won't give you an easy A but she is very helpful (she gave me two extensions) and enthusiastic and a great teacher. You'll learn a lot with her.

Take a different class. The teacher has major organizational problems when it comes to giving out assignments. This class is more an effort to stay on top of assignments, than actually completing them. Papers are graded differently than the requirements of the assignment sheet. Stay away!
