Hartmann tells you exactly what he wants from the get-go. It'S philosophy, so there's reading. 2 articles a week with a 7 question long quiz afterwards to cement the understanding into your brain (DO THEM). If you don't understand something ASK. He makes a lot of cynical jokes, but he really cares. Do the homework and follow the syllabus.

Hartmanns lectures were interesting and accessible. The material we read was a nice departure from the usual dead white Europeans. Hartmann made philosophy relatable to the diverse group of students he was teaching. He gave great feedback after tests and the grading was generous.

I wasn't a big fan of Hartmann, and to be honest the guy is really demanding, the class isn't that hard but he demands a lot and when he you receive feedback from it's not always clear, I had to ask him several times to clarify what he ACTUALLY wanted from us. I always got an ambiguous answer.

Get ready to read in his class because that's all you do. His lectures are very boring and his notes are extremely confusing ( he doesn't know how to spell correctly). He gives you a study guide which is good, but expects you to know the readings by memory for the essay question. Just wasn't my type of teacher.

Hartmann is incredibly organized from day one which made my life easier and lets you know what he expects from his students. His lectures are straightforward and to the point, yet he still makes it fun and tries to relate harder concepts to things students can understand. He sets you up for success and the ability to get an A.

I believe Hartmann's lecture style and class structure lead to a successful semester for the whole class. Making homework and quizzes one, lead to a very easy flow to the semester and helped with motivation to study throughout the semester. Given the subject, lectures were well implemented, more of an enthusiastic conversation than boring lecture.

Professor Hartmann is awesome! I took his hybrid introduction to philosophy class over the summer and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you do the reading and actually pay attention to his lectures, there is no reason you should not succeed in his class. Very nice and knowledgable as well. Absolutely no complaints about him/his class; highly recommended.

I don't know if it was the class was 8am but it was very boring! Plus he do not like anything talking nor interaction. He's the only that talks and if he calls on you to answer the question. But if you read the book is class is easy, plus he gives out study guides!

Mr. Hartman is incredibly fair and helpful. I loved his online logic course. You'll get an "A" so long as you try. He gives students two chances at each test and simply takes the highest grade. You know all of the due dates on day one. Simply do your homework whenever it fits into your schedule. Awesome if you're busy! Best class format ever!

If you need to fulfill a requirement, take Prof. H's online logic class! This class was so cool! You get TWO tries for every test! If you're happy with your 1st attempt- keep the score. If you want to try for a better score on that section's test, then take the 2nd test for that chapter two days later! The 2nd test is NOT harder! EASY "A"!

Mr. Hartmann's Intro to Philosophy class is one I would definitely recommend. He really helped me by getting to the point of the assigned readings and applying it to today's world. This made philosophy real for me and helped me understand and even enjoy the class.

In regards to the Intro. to Logic web course, I would definitely recommend the class and Mr. Hartmann.I knew what to expect and the syllabus was followed, Mr. Hartmann gave prompt responses and was there to help if needed. There was alot of studying for the class and it was not easy but I definitely have a better understanding of the subject.

Hard.Curt.Dogmatic.Strict.Interesting.Fair. took his class a few years back, and appreciate it very much even now. Where most students feel cell phones and gossip are more important than education, he lays down the law. As he teaches " listen first and your questions might be answered"

I took this over the internet and this was the HARDEST class that should only be taught in the classroom. No help what so ever and his tests were insane. I don't know who helped him with the test, but I wanted to scream when going through taking his exams, INSANE sums up the class. I was lucky to end up with a B, never again with him!!!
