Dr. Kelly is a pioneer in the field of fundraising who is a widely respected author, speaker and professor. She teaches from her textbook "Effective Fundraising Management", her vast fundraising experience, as well as various online sites, recommended books and periodicals.

Take her while you can! Dr. Kelly is an excellent teacher and super sharp (in everything from wit to powers of observation don't come late to fashion sense). A real powerhouse, and super passionate about her field.

Comment:

Dr. Kelly is strategic public relations. She is one of the best professors in the College of Journalism and Communications. She expects your absolute best and will push toward excellence. Her work is difficult and she is not an easy grader. But, she is fair and just. Hands down she is one of the top five most qualified professors in the JSchool.

Comment:

Kelly worked as a fundraiser for college departments and that is the ONLY experience she has in the profession. Her tests are stupid easy, but she gives horrible guidelines for her case analysis'. I got A's on the tests and a B on my individual case analysis, but my group did so poorly on the group analysis that my overall grade resulted in a C.

Dr. Kelly is absolutely fantastic. If you choose to take her class, rise to her challenges and take note of everything she teaches you because her wealth of knowledge on the public relations profession is unlike any other PR dept. member. I LOVED her class. I learned more than I could have ever imagined. I wish I could take more classes with her.

I loved having Dr. Kelly for Strategy. She is by far the most knowledgeable professor in the Public Relations dept. and is a great resource. I can't wait to take her fundraising course in the Spring. Definitely take her class if you're into non-profits.

Kelly is a great resource for anyone wanting to go into Public Relations (she hates the abbreviation "PR"). Although she may not be the most organized teacher, she knows the most by far. Tests and projects are detail oriented but really not bad. Not too much work for learning so much!

This class is BY FAR my favorite out of any I've ever taken at UF. Kelly is a gem. She's hilarious and extremely passionate about what she teaches. She approaches assignments, work load, topics and students the way every teacher should. Her class is extremely entertaining, interesting and informative. She cares and she lets you know. Love her.

Comment:

Mid-term exam is detail oriented, easy to fail if you don't study everything. Asks irrelevant questions on test, like web site names (never hear of google?)She is knowledgeable and passionate & if fund raising is your thing, you'll enjoy it. I took it as an elective; an enormous amount of work for one class. Wish I'd taken something else.
