I find her personality really irritating and I don't like her teaching style at all. She teaches us like we are in kindergarten. "Class, write this down. Stop writing, look at this..." She even checks our notebooks like we are in middle school. So annoying! We are old enough to take our own notes!

she's nice but she doesn't actually teach much. she pretty much just puts a peice in front of you and says draw this...as a first time art class it's probably not the best. she also gives hw but its not hard

Kathy De Filippis is an excellent 2-D design teacher. In the basic course, her assignments were clear, sparked my creative side, and not too hard. She is very helpful, encouraging, and genuinly cares about we students.

Professor gets frustrated easily and will take over your work and finish it herself. Major mood problem, cool one second and annoyed the other. I enjoyed the class subject, however, the teaching was very poor. No "freedom of expression".

Maybe this professor started off nice, but she has turned into an immense bully over the years. You have to do things her way, her method and technique. Its not the finished product that matters, its how much she can nit-pick and micromanage you along the way. She made several students cry. Also, her critiques are humiliating.

Defilippis is the best teacher I have ever had. Her classes are very fun, the work is easy, she is helpful, she is very generous and easy going. Her tests are very very easy. I HIGHLY recommend her as a teacher. You learn and you have ALOT of fun.
