Comment:

She is the worst teacher that I have ever had. DO NOT take her, I had her as my dual credit teacher and all she would do was have lectures, discussions, and chapter quizzes. Also, her major grade assignments had little instruction and was vague in my opinion. She grades very hard, also not hesitant to call someone out. Please think twice!

Comment:

She doesn't give any clear direction when assigning papers and projects and then wonders why everyone wrote something different. Her lectures are long and she gets very off tract. Her lectures barely reflect the assigned texbook reading which makes it very hard to try and study the correct material. Horrible teacher. I'm dying.

Laura Olson is the worst teacher I have ever had. Be ready to read the textbook and have weekly reading quizzes. She is very lecture heavy and gives assignments almost daily that have no correlation to what she lectures in class. Instructions for assignments are also very unclear leaving many students clueless on what to do.

Laura Olson is literally the worst teacher I have ever had. She hardly teaches the material. She is vague when assigning papers, but then grades very strict. The midterm seems almost impossible. She gave a possible 24 topics to prepare for but only three will be on the midterm; most of the topics given were never talked about before in the class.

I've never done so bad in a class before and I am taking this class in high school. Be ready to have weekly reading quizzes and many short answer questions. The midterm is ridiculously long and covers way to much information. The teacher lectures everyday. She asks many questions but makes you scared to answer her. She doesn't value others opinion.

She is a terrible teacher. Never take this class. There was no heads up on materials needed. Found which textbook was required halfway through the first week. She goes through a chapter a week, with 8-15 assignments due every friday, and mandatory 1250 word discussion boards every week. Drop out ASAP and never look back.

DO NOT TAKE HER. She is extremely unavailable and her online LoneStar class is a complete mess. Due dates are all over the place and her class has made me convinced I will never take another class through LoneStar ever again. Her class is extremely difficult for no reason and her quizzes are from online. She does nothing to help you understand.

Is VERY vague in her assignments w/ frequent typos in directions which caused confusion. I had to ask a few times for clarification. She uses "lock down browser" to test after every chapter. 3-5 Quizzes and 1 ch test due every week. 1 long research paper where she releases directions in chunks over several weeks. CAN NOT get a head of schedule.

UGH! This class was pretty difficult. She is very informational and has a lot of background from working in D.C., but she expects a lot from her students. The test and quizzes can be really difficult if you do not take thorough notes during her lectures or in the readings. READ THE TEXTBOOK

This on one of the worst professors I have ever had. Her test are taken from random material in the chapter that takes for ever to find, if it is even in the book, sometimes you have to guess on questions. I did not learn a thing from her. You could get lots of As as long as you participate in discussions. She makes lots of little mistakes though.

She is unclear, unavailable to her students, and unprofessional with her grading. This class had no group work, she was not ever in the online chats, and she did not respond quickly to emails. When I asked to schedule a meeting with her, she said she would not So disappointed, and now dedicated to NEVER taking another course through lone star.

She's very vague about what she wants and grades harshly. She's rude to her students. For example she told me that my essay was too similar to others and lacked originality. Also, once there was an error with the system so the assignments were not posted and she got upset with the class, accusing us of procrastinating and not caring about her class

By far the worst teacher I have ever had. Laura Olson does not care for her students, their education, and OBVIOUSLY not their grade in her course. We have not once taken a test through the year and now she is proposing her final as 2 essays and a 100+ multiple choice test? Over what, Laura? Your incoherent lectures and pointless quizzes? Pass

So listen. I had no choice in which professor I got but, IF YOU TAKE HER CLASS YOULL BE FINE CAUSE ALL THE QUIZZES ARE ON QUIZLET THEN SHE BRINGS UP THE FINAL. boy. Listen. 2 essays and a multiple choice over WHAT? She lectures and it has nothing to do with anything in the text book. I bought a book and I haven't used it. I'm about to take this L.

If you want a descent government teacher, do not take this class!! All she does is lectures, gets quizzes off the web that don't match the textbook & gives random group work. I bought the textbook & I have not opened it once. We did not take one test the whole semester and the final is two essays & 300 multiple choice questions. She is awful!!
