Whoever said that her literature selections were "banal" and "morbid" must not truly be an English lover, for if so, you would know those selections already. I love her to death. She is one of my favorite professors and has some of the most fun and creative projects. If you can't stand looking outside your box, don't take her, or if you slack off

I am enjoying taking american lit this summer even though all summer courses are rushed. Mrs. Stapleton clearly knows a lot about not only the lit but the history so that makes the course really interesting. Having everything laid out clearly really helps out in this quick a time. Great class so far.

This is a great summer class! So far I am learning as much about the history as about the lit, and the picture of the two together really makes things come together. Since it is summer a teacher has to be organized and the way she has things laid out with the assignments makes a quick summer coures much easier to deal with. Nice class so far!

Had I not been aware of the calibur of student she?s accustomed to, I?d say her 1st essay is fit for 7th grade special ed kids. With no clear objective, it was 4 pages of verbosity littered with poorly formatted instructions on COPYING thesis/topic sentences and filling in the rest per her suggested style. I withdrew. UT will be on a normal level.

Professor Stapleton was really confusing to me. She was almost always late to class and at least 2.5 weeks of class ended up cancelled total. Her SI was more helpful. The syllabus was not followed and the projects were very unclear. It was an easy and difficult course in itself because she offered a lot of make up work.

I am enjoying hearing about parts of the world other than just the typical western view point. I did not know about the Rwandan Massacre before. I think that Laurie's clearly enjoys teaching world lit and especially african lit and that makes the class very interesting. Warning: major project requires lots of time and planning.

This is the second time I have had Laurie, and although it is early this semester, I can already tell that world lit II is going to be an even better class. I like the fact that we always get to give our own input if we have something to back up our points. You can't really miss classes or you will miss important lecture material.

If you ask her to make things clear, she will. But if you don't take responsibility, then you might not do as well. She will also help you with other problems. She got me to a counselor at school when I didn't know what to do.

She was late almost every class and most times at least 10-15 minutes or more late. The syllabus was not followed at all, which kept me confused and unclear as to what to do as well as how to do it. The textbook by itself was more valuable to me than the classtime... it was totally unnecessary and ineffective.

I could not stand her as a teacher! She assaulted Christianity at every turn. Her lectures consisted of a daily bashing and mocking of the pilgrims, puritans and godly men of history like John Calvin and Jonathan Edwards. This woman is dismissive and belittling to those who object or disagree. She had tons of unclear homework too! Don't get Her!!!!

She was usually late to class but would get very upset if a student was late, she assigned massive amounts of work in the form of study questions every night, she changed the syllabus three times in 4 weeks, was sure that her way was the only way to interpret the reading, and was very egocentric. She is the worst teacher i've had at PSTCC.

As an English lover, I entered this class with high expectations. However, although I made an excellent grade, I largely relied on information I had already learned in high school. Exams were oral and thus confusing; lit. selections were mostly morbid and twisted, if not simply banal. Overall, very disappointing and discouraging.

WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!! I learned absolutely nothing from her, yet we were expected to write a freaking book basically. I spent every waking moment on her study questions that were due every class. I didn't even have time to work on other classes. Ended up dropping the class because she was a rude B and her class was terrible!
