Easiest A I've ever gotten in college. You don't want to go to class? All her lectures are online and very detailed. You don't want to study for midtermfinal? She lets you use a study guide on the midtermfinal. You don't want to write huge papers? One paper, 6 pages, a summary of an article she gives you. Interesting class and great GPA boost

Comment:

The most difficult part of this class is the paper. You have a choice of three diverse prompts. It's not overwhelming. Homework isn't too difficult. Lectures are all right. Sometimes dry, but if you like linguistics they're interesting enough. The midterm was really easy for me, and you get a note sheet for tests.

Read over her powerpoint lectures the night before and you'll do fine. Really easy and straightforward class and fairly interesting as well. The only work you have to put in is into the paper which is graded by the TAs but it's pretty simple. The textbook totally unnecessary if it wasn't for the homework problems inside.

Such a breeze! I rarely attended lecture and still flew through with an A. The type of class that is ideal for a schedule full of other really hard courses. A no-stress class, with interesting lectures, and helpful TA's.

Wonderful professor, stress-free class. Extremely knowledgable, experienced, and well-organized (crystal-clear, error-free PowerPoints). Repeatedly acknowledged that the material could be confusing for some, so minimized work . I had no difficulty with the material, and actually had fun writing an essay, for once. Have fun learning IPA!

Sweet Jesus that was the easiest class I have taken at Davis, and I am a graduating Senior. BUT, it wholly depends on your TA. Serena Williams was bomb and made the class fun and easy. Subject was feminist stuff, i found it interesting

Its the type of class where you can study the weekend before..and ace. Never went to class, never went to section except to turn in the hw. The TA's try to prove something by giving you a mediocre grade on the essay, simply cuz u dont show up to section...but I still pulled the A.

I recommend taking this class! At first, I was hesitant to take it after reading other responses. However, she's a great teacher (made me sleepy at times but..) I found it easy to do well on the midterm & final! The paper was pretty cool and not very difficult. The homework can be kinda long, but it helped me do well on the tests without stressing.

Lenora talks a bit too softly but is really nice. Her power points could use some updating, but overall the class was interesting. Fun project and simple term paper.

Class was boring as hell. She limits to read from the PWP presentation plus she posts it online, so my question is whether to go to class or not, cause I get nothing out of it. On top of that his PWP presentations are made out basically from the readings for class, so no new material. We read way too much, like there was nothing else. Avoid her!

definatly easy.... but boring as hell. never listened in class and did decently on midterms was expecting a low A but got a B+, shes easy but doesnt bend on confusing multiple choice q's. book isnt very imporant and posts all of her notes... didnt learn anything but a nice gpa booster i guess

You can tell she's a really good teacher and really knows her stuff, but she'd be much more effective in an upper division course. Class is a joke. Homework is easy, but long and annoying as hell. Midterm and final are open note and pretty easy. Same with the paper.

Really nice lady. Lectures are not that exciting but at least go and pick up the lecture notes that she does not post online. Tests are easy (MC) because she allows notes on one sheet of paper. HW is loooong but is only graded on TOTAL completeness (don't do 1 problem, it's 1/2 credit).

She is really passionate about what she teaches. she is very approachable, homework isn't that bad but starts to become annoying when you get around to doing it. open note tests, prints out notes for you...take her class. it's not that bad.

SO EASY. I don't even listen to her lecture and still score a B!!! I say TAKE HER CLASS. Just go to lecture and get the already printed notes. Exams are open-book and the paper is worth 25%. Easy paper.
