Tansil isn't the worst professor out there, but there are better. She wants her students to be able to thoroughly understand college algebra, and she's constantly pushing her students. However the way she grades is a killer. KNOW YOUR MATERIAL! She is not a lenient grader; her quizzes & test are both worth 100 points, & she will deduct 30 points.

I've always gotten A's in math but she has no clue what she's talking about. She will mess up on the notes then email the class the next day telling you to forget everything you learned the day before and wont reteach it.

survey of math online... pretty easy for the 1st half. You have to use mymathlab. Homework is not mandatory but if you do it-it's exactly what your quiz is. Midterm was short & easy. Mrs. Tansil is a pretty good teacher. She is very helpful & has multiple study sessions before every test. In class she goes VERY fast!! Overall the way the class is set up for MA134 sucks! MyMathLab does not help students actually learn the objectives and the tests are so different then the actual hw & online reviews. Just do all hw & extra credit

Mrs tansil is a great teacher. Homework is easy and she's easy to understand. Definitely one of the best teachers in the math department! Take her if you want an A! She knows what she's teaching!

I love math but hate this class. However it is NOT because of Mrs. Tansil. She is GREAT! If it hadn't been for her, I would have failed! Graphs, graphs, graphs!! GO TO CLASS (It's math, everything builds).. She gives lots of extra credit and is always willing to help. Ask questions if your not completely following. I recommend Tansil! She's great!!

Comment:

So nice! Will try to help you as much as she can. If you have any math background at all, this class is so easy. Gives a few quizzes, but you'll know about them in advance and they're really easy. Tests are a breeze if you paid attention. If you come everyday, then you probably won't have to study at all.
