Great professor, a shame it's her last time teaching an undergrad course. Really very knowledgeable about the law, respects her students and provides genuine interest and insight into the topic. Class was as hard as you made it, just a few grades, definitely rec.

Lisa was great. She provided very constructive feedback, and was always wonderful to have in class. Presented all topics as fairly and unbiased as possible, which is commendable. One presentation and two papers made 90% of my grade, but you can submit drafts for comments. Just put in the work and don't slack off, and she is great! Would take again.

Lectures could get boring but I really enjoyed this class with Prof. Nelson. She made it interesting and involved students. There is one group project which is styled as a debate. A lot of papers but if you submit a draft it really helps because she gives feedback on how to improve them and get a better grade. She is funny and knows the material.

The entire grade is based on 4 assignments: 3 papers and 1 group round table discussion. I recommend the class to anyone with an interest in constitutional law. Her lectures were super interesting, discussing modern constitutional questions about WikiLeaks, police search of cell phones, etc. Fair grader and I felt like I learned a lot.

Intelligent but tough. Take the class if you want to learn. Don't take the class if you want to work.

Super tough grader on papers and doesn't give clear instructions on the structure of the papers. Super vague on assignments doesn't help the grading. Lots of reading and gives excellent feedback on papers. Very helpful if you don't understand a concept. Still would not take this class again.

Classes were kind of boring and attendance is mandatory, but overall you learn a lot in her class. She doesn't give out any tests, just 2 papers at the midterm and 2 at the final that are supposed to be 8 pages long. If you don't mind writing, it's a good class to take.

Dr. Nelson's Law and Politics class was enjoyable We did one group project and four 8-page papers. As with any law class, reading and writing consume the most of your time.

Professor Nelson's law and politics course is just what is, but more about specific legal issues regarding individual rights. Nonetheless, she is very intelligent and her course consists of 1 group presentation (spent 2 hours preparing for) and a total of 4 5pg papers (not too difficult).

Fairly easy class 5 page midterm paper and a 5 page final paper along with 2 roundtable discussion papers which were 5 pages each as well. Long lectures but she's passionate about law so it's not terrible. Interesting topics if you enjoy law but can get extremely boring and confusing if you don't. I'd only take it if you really are set on law.

4 10pg papers and 1 group discussion/presentation. 1 paper topic in each weekly class so plenty of topics to choose from. She directs you towards sources and gives you a general guidline of how to form your papers and discussion. Very easy grader. She shows how con law precedent applies to modern day issues. Interesting class and an easy A

Easy class, claims to take attendance but did for one or two classes tops. Requirements include 3 summaries of debates from classmates, and one summary of your own debate. I felt like she gave me a B+ no matter what. I felt like my first paper was horrible and just wrote down crap, and thought my last paper was stellar, and got a B+ on both.

AMAZING prof, will challenge your perception of privacy rights. A must! Went in thinking it would be a boring IT class and instead (given her law/policy angle) it is my fave class at GSPIA. A bit challenging without a law background, which I don't have, but manageable (A so far) if you do the readings, panel/papers, & engage in class discussions.

Very nice person. However, her instruction lacks preparation and she seems extremely disorganized. That said, take the class if you want an easy A.
