Avoid her if at all possible! Gave quizzes very week, some questions were misleading or focused on minutia. She is very disorganized. Lost my quiz one week and proceeded to tell me with an attitude I wasn't in class to take it. Yeah right. Later found my quiz amongst the piles of papers (literally!) in her office.

This professor expects you to know the material before she explains it. She doesn't believe on the multiple meanings of a text, so you need to guess what she wants. Some students in the class have friends who have taken her previously, and they get the correct answer and do better. She's smart, but can be intimidating. Needs to change pedagogically

There is nothing easy about this class nor the professor. You have to work to figure out what she wants and how she wants it yet she is still never clear. However, by the time you leave her class, I guarantee you will know more about literature than from any other professor out there. Dejame pre****arte algo. ¿Qué es lituratura?

If you think this professor is "too hard" or "rude" then you need less professors coddling you. If you are bad at the class maybe you just don't belong in it. The professor knows her stuff and I learned a lot in a class I originally had no interest in.

If you expect to get an easy grade from a SPA class, you better take another professor. I took SPA 428 & 426 (same semester) Shes high demanding on the material. Overall shes a great teacher, I learned A LOT from her, if you want to learn about literature or how to understand Cuentos, Poemas ect. take her. Dont expect a free grade.

She likes to give her opinion on every subject. On the quizes (which you take every week) if your opinion doesn't match hers, you loose points. I was constantly falling asleep and watching the clock til class was over

Senora Cardenas is a difficult person to work with. I wanted a minor in Spanish, but she basically told me it would be too difficult for me, and I should go study with her family or friends in a Spanish speaking country. Not to mention the whole Spanish program at ASUWest is unorganized (she is the head). They should really try to get it together.
