Depending on your math level, you might find this class a bit slow. The professor is quite old, so he does everything really slow, and often times speaks too quietly. Doesn't post grades online. Overall, pretty meh professor

It can be a tough class in general, but he teaches it very well. His voice is clear and easy to understand. You can tell that he has your best interests at heart and he prepares you for the future the best he can. He is always available outside class. On the down side, No grades are posted to canvas, and web-assign is always due at 10 pm. no email

His lectures are not too bad, but if you don't pay attention in his class or do the webassigns, you will fail! His office hours are very helpful.

Lecture heavy and tends to mess up the problems, difficult to follow because he doesn't explain how he got from a to b and blocks the board when he's writing. Quizzes 1-2 times a week. Provides study guide for exam, but his problems on the exam are difficult and even if he doesn't teach it you are expected to know it. Most have a C or lower.

Comment:

Had him for 231 and 220. Good guy. Text wasn't required for either but you're gonna need it for 231. Lectures straight from the book. Quite a few quizzes. HW is online, can be time consuming. Attendance not required but difficult class if you skip. Tests are hard and intensive but are just like the review sheets. Tough but not a bad choice.

Comment:

One of the more difficult math professors. He lectures really well, but he is hard. Quiz every single week. Stay on top of your stuff and you should be fine, but be warned that it is a hard class. I would recommend a different section.

Poor teacherI am not saying his lecturing technique, but the exam problems designed by him. Involves a lot useless calculation and you must remember all formula of derivatives and integral such as arcsint, instead of giving you a number to put in that you cansolve it in calculator.

He is a fair professor when it comes to quizzes and can be helpful at times. Gives out a quiz at least once or twice a week. He can be confusing as he jumps around the board a lot and forgets things. He is okay.

He is pretty cool, but hates when people take when he is trying to teach. He uses webassign but only like 10 questions per class. He jumps around one board so you really have to pay attention. Look out for the danger sign!

Johnson is a good teacher for the most part. He explains things if you ask him to and is very helpful in office hours. He gave a re-test once bc most bombed the original and gives extra credit on most tests. Was A LOT of quizzes, 1-2 per week but it kinda helps you learn. Lectures can be very confusing, he jumps around the board. I'd reccomend

He's really good at teaching math, he knows his stuff. Gave breaks every now and then. I usually only have to go to class on Friday for quiz. I would take him for math 141 if he was teaching MWF instead of MTWF.

Professor Johnson is a very good professor. Helpfull and tries to help you in ur situation. His tests arent that hard but he gives out a lot of quizzes in the semester. He will try to give you a better grade if you show that you're working hard and getting good grades in his class. I would take him again for any math course.

He is a very intelligent guy. Definitely knows what he is doing. If you ask for help it is there, if you don't you could fall behind. Gives tests regularly for the purpose of seeing if you understand the material. I liked his way of teaching.

If you have trouble taking a freshman, sophomore level math class with johnson, good luck at UPark. I am actually happy I had him because he is an easyyyyyyy grader and I actually learned the subject matter.

Comment:

He can be hard to follow, if you are not already familiar with the material via the book/webassign. The material itself is relatively easy, but he designs his tests very poorly, such that they become more of a slog through algebra than a test of your understanding of the material. For example, a 7 question test took about an hour and a half.
