Dr. Ballou was a superb teacher. I had lots of worries about taking her after reading the reviews here, but I found her to be an incredibly clear and caring teacher, and her grading was not particularly harsh at all. Would absolutely take again.

Very funny teacher who understands that most of us just want to do this class and then get the hell out. Practice tests look exactly like the exams. Will change her teaching style to suit how most of the class learns best. Really just a dope ass teacher as long as you don't drop the ball

I enjoyed Dr. Ballou's lectures. Calculus II is not an easy subject, and it takes practice to get used to the math. She covered everything needed for tests, and test problems were very similar to the homework. The class is not as bad as some people make it out to be. If you attend class, pay attention, and study, this class should not be a struggle

Dr. Ballou is a good professor overall. However she is lacking in the amount of support that she provides in and out of class. It is difficult to get homework help out of her and she speed along during lectures.

Comment:

Ballou is an okay lecturer, she hands out note packets for each lesson and will go through problems contained within the packets. She has a website with a ton of practice test and other reviews which I highly recommend checking out. Ballou will most likely take quite a few days off throughout the semester.

Dr. Ballou was a solid calc teacher, but definitely not the best I've had. Most of her lectures consisted of reading textbook definitions followed by a few example problems. The examples were helpful, but more context on what we were actually calculating would have been nice. Do your best on the homework and do the test corrections.

I thought it was straight forward and easy for Calc 1. I was thinking wow math isn't too bad over here. HAHAHA wrong!!!!!! Just wait till Calc 2. Your life is going to suck. Most failed class at Tech so far. Ballou is great!!!!

Dr. Ballou has been one of my favorite professors. I have never learned more calculus better anywhere else. This was not an easy class, but I learned a ton. Dr. Ballou is the BEST!

Dr. Ballou is far from the easiest math teacher at tech, she has some of the hardest test and gives a large work load, but she is a very good teacher. I feel that I really did learn a bunch in this Calculus class.

I would not recommend this instructor unless you are a girl. The guys are treated with contempt and only the bare minimum is given to answer their questions. Many integration examples are left for you to finish, which is frustrating if you are a visual learner.

Comment:

Linda really knows the subject well and can explain a very difficult concept with ease. She is fair on grading (she often curves tests) and will give you individual help if approached. Be ready to write very fast when taking notes, however. She can lose you if you don't pay attention to her lectures. All in all, very good professor.
