Comment:

I enjoyed her class, it had quite a bit of homework but that's expected when learning a new language. I have so many papers in my binder from all the handouts and worksheets I had to print out but they are all beneficial. She didn't teach much kanji so if you plan on taking higher levels then you'll have to practice them yourself.

Comment:

Good teacher. Clear on what she wants, and good at teaching the basics. She's got a good sense of humor, although only when appropriate; she's no-nonsense when you're supposed to be working. Gives pretty good feedback and is fairly helpful. Definitely disappointed that she only teaches the first level of Japansese.

There are only 2 JPN teachers in OCC and I believe she is way much better than another teacher. Compare two of their courses, she talks more clear than another one. In her class you have to study but in another class even you study you may not get good grade because another teacher gives HW and tests super confusing.

She's a good teacher, but if you plan to take 185 and higher don't take her she does not teach the Kanji in the book and you are expected to know that the next semester. if you want to take the higher levels take Kagawa cause she is the only one who teaches those. I took Ito fall09 and got an A, its easy, but not beneficial for the future levels.

This class is not for shy/quiet people since there's a lot of group practices in class but since I had friends who took it with me, it wasn't a problem. There's a lot of HW, but it's beneficial for a language course; I still remember everything almost three years after I took the course! =]

She is an amazing woman, she makes learn Japanese more fun than it already is. I've learn so much from her class, she gives homework every time you have class. I would take the next level if she was teaching it. She's funny too, I recommend taking her class. Also, she's really into Sumo wrestling.

Ito Sensei is probably one of the funnest teachers I've had! She makes japanese very interesting and uses a lot of class interaction. Her tests are pretty easy and she is a very nice lady. The only downside is that there is a lot of homework, for every single class, but its worth coming to class! Good luck

I love Professor Ito! Her teaching style really helps clarify the grammar in Japanese. She keeps the class involved and likes it when students try & pay attention. This isn't a class for slackers though. If you really want to learn, take her!! Attendance is pretty important. I got an A.

Very nice, cute, funny lady, just don't piss her off. The class is very involved so it goes by pretty fast, as long as you pay attention you should be fine. I recommend her, its a fun class.

Sensei Ito has no patience for students that show no signs of dilligence (i.e. studying, paying attention). It seems impossible NOT to pass her class if you make an effort &use material provided in the workbooks and textbook. It's not that she doesn't like questions but she probably hates to repeat herself when students don't pay attention.

I used to hate grammar, but she made it make sense! Strict but also has sense of humor. If you want to learn Japanese, but not slack off, take this class. Awesome teacher!

Ito-sensei was one of the worst teachers I have taken at OCC. Constantly picked on me and the fact that I struggled through her class. I GAVE UP Japanese for two years because of her. STAY AWAY!!
