Teaching was already falling apart when I took the class in 2006...cancelled classes, no connection to subject matter, discussions that didn't relate, endless movies instead of teaching. I was excited by subject before her class and by the end, nothing. Also - it's true: you get an A or A- for no work (and you'll never get a paper back, so...)

Horrible. Is not helpful and presents her opinions as fact. Into to Multicultural studies more like "Intro to What Margo Thinks About the Middle East" Do not take this class if you are interested in learning about cultures other than the middle east.

Margo is an amazing professor who really puts her students first. She really opens your mind to more global issues and is only an easy grader if you have done the work, come to class, participate, and do the final paper/presentation. One of my favorite professors ever.

Easy A - sure. No real work - sure. No feedback on your work - sure. No way to know your grade before the end - sure. Boring movies - sure. Worth your time? No. If you look at the news regularly, you will learn as much as you could learn in this class, except you'd probably get a better perspective.

I am now out of college, and I must say that Margo's classes had a tremendous influence on my world view and on the work I do. Margo offers students a wide angle sociology, looking at the whole globe in order to understand sociological issues, not just at American Issues. I came to her class a US citizen and left a global citizen.

I felt insulted by how easy this course was. I skipped class a lot and still managed an A-. No penalties for anything as long as you write what you know she's already said.

I attempted to take this class in the summer and she was quite possibly the most mind-numbingly boring professor I ever dealt with. I sat through the first class then asked for an independent study. P.S. She gave me an A in the class for writing one paper that was basically the regurgitation of information on San Francisco found on my computer's encyclopedia.

Margo is an excellent teacher and worldy woman. Her class literally opened my eyes to whats going on in the world. For everyone who says she's biased is probably a far right winged conservative. Take her class. I learned so much about America and the world we live in.

This is all you need to do to ace her class: people with power are evil, people without power are good. She is a wonderful and kind woman, but her class is so long on complaining about problems, and so short on offering solutions, that it became deadening. I dreaded her class, skipped more than half the time, and got an A anyway.
