Content is as expected for a writing course. Naylor said my papers were great, but said he would review drafts. I emailed him a draft to review and he never responded nor even read it. The digital portfolio is silly and unneeded, but he grades only whatever is submitted in the portfolio, regardless if you submitted it earlier in the course.

He is funny and nice and is not the worst professor. He is just a stickler on attendance and tardiness so if you tend to skip class don't take him. But he's really not that bad and if you take him you will be fine. Just a time consuming class no matter who you take.

Very nice guy and wants you to succeed. However, he is a super tough grader on papers. You could give him your rough draft to read, and he'll tell you what to change but then rips your final draft to shreds. Would not take him again.

Gives a lot of assignments and makes you work for your grade, but evaluates assignments fairly and will give you an option to get the grade up. Wants students to succeed and learn, even though there were a lot of assignments and it was slightly challenging, I would take him again. Many assignments piled up on top of a minimum 8 page research paper.

Prof. Naylor assigns a lot of work, so be prepared to put in real effort. He will post multiple assignments on D2L per each day of class, and he will send out an email once a week with supplemental readings. However, he is accessible and nice. You can gain a lot from his class if you put in work.

Professor Naylor is one of those teachers you either love or hate. At first, the amount of reading, writing, and homework in general seemed daunting and nearly impossible, but with a decent amount of effort, his class was a breeze. He is very stuck-in-his-ways when it comes to technology, but I enjoyed his class and the group discussions.

Mr. Naylor, is a very nice man who gives very good feedback on anything you send him and has a good sense of humor. However, he's pretty picky on writing and assigns a paper like every week and plus work during the week. So if you can stay away from him if possible unless you have no other option.

He's a little bit harder than your average professor, but he definitely gives good feedback. I learned a lot from his class, but I highly recommend taking it IF you want to be a good writer in the future. Papers are long, but you do learn quite a bit along the way. Take his class if you need to improve your writing.

He's sweet and always ready to help. I did not find him to be a particularly harsh grader, he simply expects you to write at a college-level. There are opportunities to resubmit your work if you are not pleased with your grade. Lectures are sometimes long, but the assignments are fairly interesting and easy to complete.

The guy is nice, however he's such a TOUGH grader!!! Oh my god!! And expects you to write a paper like every week, and gives you so much criteria for the paper. You have a whole sheet front and back of things you need to include in your paper. And then he's a very tough grader! I am a decent writer but I had a hard time writing something he liked.

Participation 10%, drafts & 5 short writing assignments 15, group project 10, 8-10 pg research paper 25, digital portfolio & reflection essay 25, 1 3-4 pg essay & 1 4-5 pg essay 15. Tough grader-takes points off for "grammar and presentation" or for not answering EVERY SINGLE PART of a question. Expect lots of reading & writing. Need books.

I had him for writing 103. he seemed ok in the beginning, until the first essay. EXPECT TO WRITE A LOT AND GET YOUR PAPERS RIPPED APART. I was in AP English all through high school, and he still tore apart my writing. I fixed the paper with his comments for the final paper, and he still ripped it apart. Overall, hated the class

Naylor's lectures were long and not always on topic. It was somewhat difficult to pay attention to him. He is unsure of technology at times, and is not afraid to call you out if he sees your phone in class, which feels very high school. Gives plenty of feedback on papers, but is a very tough grader. Pretty nice, despite not being the most exciting.

Naylor's a little boring. He rambles on with sparse dry humor - not enough to keep me awake. Honestly, I didn't really learn anything from his class. He uses very outdated videosreadings, and most of the things we discussed weren't relevant in today's society. Tough paper grader, overall easy A for me.

I have never gotten such mean and degrading comments on a paper. Absolutely ridiculous for a professor. One of his comments was "wow, this is one of the first correct interpretation you've actually made" and I knew he was just being mean because all his other comments were like "THIS IS INCORRECT" Tough grader too, I don't recommend him.

This teacher is one of the harshest graders i've ever had. His comments are useless for improvement, and only show what was wrong. The assignments are unclear and he will give you a poor grade regardless of the fact his assignments are confusing and lack clarity.

Vey passionate about his job. His sense of humor was so strange yet enjoyable. I liked how the 9 short responses were mostly based on opinion which were discussed in class. If you put in effort on the essays, you will do well. His commentary may be a bit unclear but he is always available to discuss your writing after class and during office hours.

Expect to complete 9 short writing assignments, and three essays. Also expect to get very little feedback on your writing, and to encounter general vagueness about grading policy.
