Comment:

I had her twice a week, and she gave A LOT of reading that even she noticed was too much. She is very nice though, and was my "easy" class compared to the work load of other classes. Just let her know you are interested and want to do well. She was very understanding to the students, but only if you openly talk with her on a regular basis.

Dr. Soven was an easy A with only 4 papers that you have to turn in a rough draft in for. She is very kind. However, her class always dragged. She didnt really teach much. I would recommene her for an easy A/class.

Would not take again. Sure, she's easy but she's also a difficult person to talk to. I personally believe she should stop teaching. I did all the work and got A's in it. I tried to tell her that the three days I wasn't here for is because I had family issues going on, she didn't care. Dropped my grade to a B.

Dr. Soven's class was the easiest A I've ever received. It's very hard to fail. She's quite elderly and her lectures are very boring, but she has the best intentions.

Dr. Soven will help you if you ask. She's very friendly and is always there for her students. As for grades, follow directions, show up to class, and do your work, you should be fine. She isn't a harsh grader, but she has a low voice that may put you to sleep if you have her in the morning. Try to participate. It's refreshing and she'll like that.

She is so rude and makes rude comments to the class. She is not fair when it comes to grading. Definitely the worse teacher I have ever had. Sure, she's easy, but she will give you grades on your essays that do not make sense with her comments/corrections. Save yourself the trouble and don't take her class.

She is a really nice professor. I never saw her yell at anyone and she is very helpful. She talks quietly and you have to listen very carefully. Margot Soven is definitely one of the better English professors. I would recommend her!

I really enjoyed this class. There was plenty of reading. Dr. Soven is always there to offer help. She's a sweet person. Make sure to come to class because there are a lot of handouts.

Class will seem easy, but she does not give out a grading system. I got As on all my tests and ended up with a B-. Her grading is COMPLETELY subjective. I emailed her to ask what she based my grade on and she wouldn't tell me. I would not recommend taking her.

I missed class a lot for stupid reasons, and it didn't really seem to be a problem. If ever you needed to ask a question, she was always available. Very nice lady, and cares about her students (p.s.- the books arent' so bad)
