Professor is awkward, never answers questions (similar to Ron Schmitz from ARTD275), tough grader if he doesn't like you (+ be cautious of his "advice" can be counted off for following it), & Final on top of a Final which is NEEDED TO PASS OR FAIL. Never gives reminders for assignments & confusing criteria. He NEVER does demos (which is needed!)

(He took 5 years away from USI & came back Fall 2019.) I took 331, he is okay. 1st 3 projects were life studies and such a bore. We got into more interesting projects but overall it was meh. Okay feedback from class crit. and rarely interacted unless you asked. Overwhelming # of pgs for sketchbook assignments and not much freedom on them.

Awesome teacher!! If you are interested in graphic design this is the guy you need. The class is basically learning Adobe InDesign, which is a great publishing software to know. Great teacher, Great class!

He is a great professor! Always willing to help if you have questions! Explains things VERY fast, but will always go over it again with you personally if needed. Very fair and a really nice guy! A bit slow on grading which is frustrating sometimes, but he does so much, it's understandable. Would definitely recommend him!

Chuck is such a great professor! He definitely knows his stuff and is always sure to give you his opinion on your work and help you make it better if you ask. Class is mandatory so don't skip, you'll miss out! Critiques are long and boring but he does try his best to get the class to participate in the critiques as well. I definitely recommend him!

Knows his stuff and you can trust what he says but this is one of the most boring classes once it's critique day. 13 student submissions took him 2 hours the other day. It was one single photo from each person. He just likes to go on and on with it.

A great professor that is extremely willing to help. It's true that he leaves class occasionally, but he has a lot of responsibility on campus. His assignments and exercises are well-made and very good for learning. He has a lot of design and media experience. He's humble and can appear frazzled at times but is more level and sharp than he seems.

Chuck is one of the more laid-back professors on campus. He knows his stuff, and makes Graphic Design easy to learn and focuses a lot on what to do when your working on a real graphic design job after school. One note: he's a lot smarter than what he puts off, don't underestimate him!

Chuck is an AWESOME teacher! I learned so much from him in only 1 semester! I took him a second semester and I am still amazed with his creativity and willingness to help you express what you are trying to. HES AWESOME!

I've been working as a designer for several yrs, & I still think Chuck is a great teacher. He's laid back & lets you do your own thing creatively, but he has high expectations & won't let you get away with a project you slapped together in 10 minutes. Projects are unique & good for the portfolio. Def. prepared me for work!

If you know your stuff even somewhat, avoid this teacher, because I think he's just teaching this course to get the extra money... you will not benefit from much, other than the experience. It's not that he doesn't try to help... he's just kinda dumb I think. Not even in class half the time.
