She is so sweet and you can tell she loves teaching. She does not use canvas for grades but you can go in and talk to her and she is always willing to let you know where you stand. She is so passionate about what she teaches and makes the class fun. She gives great feedback on her papers.

Her class was the first time I have enjoyed to read since I have been in college. She is so passionate and caring about her work that it rubs off on you. Easy to learn from and the assignments are all very straightforward and don't take too much time.

I have had Marjorie for this class and another, and both times she has been fantastic. She is enthusiastic about what she teaches and she makes it an interactive experience, rather than just standing at the front of the room lecturing for an hour and a half. Tough, but fair grader. Lots of reading, but the reading is interesting. Would recommend!

Someone told me postmodernism was literature on drugs. Try steroids! Do you like appropriate grammar? Gee! Sand or grit is more along the lines of what you get in these novels. Still, 319 was a welcome break from other classes in poetry. Stare over her notes and you'll succeed. I passed and enjoyed the maas of the readings. Also, hilarius.

Be ready to work hard; she's demanding. Exceptionally helpful. Syllabus was detailed; expectations stated clearly. Wrote two 8-12 page stories, 1 page analysis of six published stories, 1 page analysis of 8 student stories. Arranged for speakers outside of class. Very nice. I learned a lot.

Class was so boring. You can tell she loves doing what she's doing, but she tries to force it upon you with randomly assigned reading assignments. The final is a huge project. I'm not an English major, so I had a hard time with these. She's a nice person but I disliked the class.

I had Marge for both lower and upper division classes, and I LOVE her! She is very passionate about what she does and isn't afraid to be herself in class. Some times class was a wee bit boring, but mostly fun. Is kind of nerdy in a artsy-fartsy way, but that makes class entertaining in my opinion.

Marjorie is so dedicated! She was willing to meet with you to discuss your story, and she really cares about you as a student/writer. She is so knowledgable about literature, always ready to give you an example. Another great professor in OSU's writing dept.

I also took WR 324 from her. She is a lot of work, but passionate, and you learn a lot-- this is the one teacher I've had who made me passionate about english/writing. She expects a lot, but it's because she respects you. I'm normally a slacker, but I enjoyed her. I got a B+ and C. Recommend her if you are in college to learn.

A TON of work. You'll read a bunch of books, turn in a 1 page single spaced paper every 1-2 weeks, be expected to read your work and talk about it for the class. Midterm is pretty hard, for the final, write a really long paper. She's a little disorganized, but passionate, which is nice. i got a C+
