I hold a great amount of respect for Professor Lewis and I'm upset I had to have him during the pandemic. He had to switch up his grading criteria midway through the semester but this also made it easier for everyone. He graded us mostly on tests and journal entries, but both aren't too hard. He gives us study guides and gives us time to do the jes

He is a great teacher. During this whole pandemic the way the speeches would have to be made were complicated but he easily adapted to completely online and I really appreciate his patience and ability to help.

Very fun class, gives great examples from his own experiences and is fun to interact with. He is also a big baseball fan so he brings that into his lectures which I enjoyed very much. As far as the journals and homework he will expect you to follow his instructions to the T, if you show him you understand the material you will get As and Bs.

Professor Lewis is very knowledgeable in this field of study. His class was very fun and he himself is a very nice person. I did feel however that he graded very tough I put in a lot of time and effort I guess I just didn't write to his standards. But overall great person in great class

Professor Lewis is an amazing teacher, just a bit unorganized. He doesn't like to use canvas, can't really check our grades, lost some of our papers, but I do appreciate the presentations and group activities. His tests are a bit difficult, not really sure what he looks for in my essays, but I would still recommend to take his class.

Professor Lewis is so disorganized it affected my entire class. We got a syllabus with due dates on day one and it was never mentioned again. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject but he comes off as patronizing in a lot of ways. I dont know if this was just an off semester for him but... yikes. Just take another professor.

Mr. Lewis is a great guy, but his issue is he lacks organization. 90% of the times we are going catch up work because he "messed up" the class schedule. I can't count how many times our speeches are postpone or work is backed-up due to lack of organization, which cause some student to almost failed the class !

Professor Lewis is extremely extra. He assigns way to much-written work and is extremely unorganized. His written work is basically journals that are 2-3 pages long. They are repetitive and ask you the same questions over and over. I asked what my grade was before the drop date and he refuses to use Canvas and won't tell you your grade. Don't take!

If your going to take this class, get a study buddy. Mr. Lewis is the most unorganize teacher ever. I understand that it can be hard to keep up when your teaching 5 different types of communication class. He's a great guy to talk to, but his hw are confusing. At the end, you won't know what your doing. Better take another teacher if you can !

It truly is a blessing to hear Professor Lewis speak and tell his stories. I have learned so much about myself and my relationship with others, I wish everyone would take this class! Prof Lewis is kind and respectful; I truly cannot say enough great things about him. TAKE HIS CLASS! You will see what I'm talking about!

This is basically another English class, but orally based rather than on paper. Along with the speeches, there will be the usual exams and essays. Just study and manage your time wisely and you should be fine. Some due dates can change and get confusing, but they're manageable. Fun class overall, and you do make new friends in there.

I am so glad I took Lewis for public speaking! He's very passionate about the subject and truly understands how intimidating public speaking feels. I learned so much from his class and he really inspired me. The class is very well paced and because of his ice-breaking activities I left the class feeling like I had a bond with each of my classmates.

His class is average, his due dates are very confusing and doesn't explain homework assignments in detail. His grading is very harsh when it comes to speeches and can come off as very bias towards certain students. aside from that its a good class but its worth mentioning DON'T BE LATE DON'T MISS CLASSES IF YOU CAN!!

Lewis can be confusing on due dates but also offers extra credit opportunities. Pretty straightforward class. Follow the outlines in the book. The hardest part was the midterm and final. I earned an A for the class but I really had to work for it. Oh and if you want an A you can only be late and/or miss class up to 2 times.

I really enjoyed Professor Lewis' class and will be taking him again this Spring for Com 1. Participation is important and so is a willingness to get out of your comfort zone and interact with the other people in class (gasp!) His lectures are interesting and relatable he often shares stories of his family. Highly recommend!

Horrible Not a public speaking class. The entire semester we only had 3 speeches to do and he cancelled our last speech and gave us a take home essay. Im an honor student not afraid of hard work but this professor should be reported. Gives 10 journals each one is 3pages long. Gives outlines grades formatting. Course is a English course not Comm.

He is disrespectful. His grading and expectation for the class are high and unreasonable. No words can truly describable how bad of a professor he truly is. Hes better off teaching preschoolers instead of college students.

Great and personable! Loved class with Professor Lewis but beware exams and make sure you read the text. The exam was primarily text based as opposed to class which focuses on application of public speaking. Keep up on journal entries and other assignments.
