Comment:

Seriously loved him as a person, but overall, he could enunciate to make note taking easier. You have to use Quizlet to memorize the study guides because the tests are almost entirely essay questions. I've definitely had to work hard this semester, but since I know what to expect, I'd take him again.

He is a really nice professor, but I found him extremely hard to understand. If he enunciated a little more it would benefit him and students greatly. It was so bad to the point where I couldn't take notes because I just couldn't figure out what he was saying. If I have any advice, do the chapter summary's and MEMORIZE the tests on quizlet.

Doesn't put any notes on Blackboard, so it's essential to go to class even though he doesn't take attendance. So straightforward though- as long as you show up and take notes, you'll do fine on the tests!

Worst class ever. GEP is a waste of time and money- GET OUT OF IT IF YOU CAN!!! Paxton is okay, but you can't hardly understand him half the time. Not funny, super boring lectures, waste of time group projects.

I took Paxton for GEP. GEP is a waste of time but as a freshman you have to take it. Paxton's class is a little boring but it's the easiest class. You will have assignments and papers (we had 6 one page papers this semester) but they aren't hard. If you do them you will get an A. Some GEP professors are hard, Paxton isn't. Take him.

Mr Paxton is very straight forward. He tells you this is whats going to be on the test know it. So if you come to class and you don't know it its your own fault not his. Come to class everyday attendance is not optional in this class.

Dr. Paxton is awesome! If you go to class, take notes, study your notes, do the EASY chapter summaries each week and use the study guide for exams there is no way not to get an A in his class. Presentations and term paper were not hard and made the end of the semester FUN! If Paxton is teaching a class I must take, I will only take it with him.

I thought the class would be dull, but Paxton's enthusiasm and stories/examples keep it interesting. Tests are tough (each question is worth a lot and there are a lot of short answer questions), but if you study you should be fine. Do the chapter summaries for easy points!

I can't stress enough how awesome Paxton is. I'm not even a journalism major but I took another one of his classes, because he's so fun! He's such an easy grader, yet you'll still learn course material. Take Paxton if you can, even for an elective!

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this class, and Paxton had a lot to do with it! He's funny and knowledgeable, and makes it obvious which cases you should know for the tests. Tests are tough but not impossible. Do the chapter summaries, they're easy. Attend every lecture and take good notes. Interesting class!

Paxton is awesome! He teaches well, and as long as you listen well he will teach you a lot. Take good notes and listen to the stories, go to class and you will learn and enjoy. However, chapter summaries are easy and pointless. You don't really have to read the book, just skim it.

Dr. Paxton has to be the best teacher in the journalism department. He seems to really care about the subject and how you do on it. He claims his tests are hard, but if you study just a little bit they are not. Take good notes.

Dr. Paxton is a great teacher. He is always willing to help out and tell you where to go with a story. I reccomend him for any journalism student.
