The class was fine through out the semester. We had 3 speeches due and small assignments here and there. The only thing that really bothered me was the final exam which really messed up my grade. He told us to study the slides and half the final material wasn't on the slides. I wanna say the final average was a D. I recommend taking someone else

Literally never take him. He is the worst professor you could ever encounter. I dont know why hes been allowed to work here for so long. He forces students to out themselves as LGBT+ as a statistic & precedes to give them bad grades. He deduces grades for things students cant control & critiques aloud as a form of public embarrassment.

This is the worst class I have ever had to take. He treats the class like children incapable of being focused. He is picky about outlines and you still get points off for them being exactly as he wants them. You get points off for things you cant change and he singles you out after a specific class period. Hes an embarrassment as An adjunct

very very unclear standards. He is grading you more off your outline, and everything must be exactly correct to meet his standard. It an awfully tough grader and will completely ridicule your speech in front of the whole class. Will point out every flaw.

If Professor seaman is the last Professor open to take this class, dont take it. Wait. Absolutely awful. This class is supposed to help you become a better public speaker but he focuses more on outlines. embarrasses you and just focuses on the bad parts of your speech instead of the good parts.

Not my favorite professor. Didn't give a chance to turn in late work nor gave us a study guide for the final. He gives good feedback but also doesn't hesitate to roast your speech in front of the whole class.

Makes an intro level class harder than it is supposed to be. Very particular about outlining a speech rather than its effect on the listeners. Take another professor.

The class and the professor seem intimidating at first but as the semester goes on it really isn't bad. There are only 3 speeches and some homework. Attendance matters but the class really helps you with public speaking.

Great teacher. May seem really intimidating the first class, but it is an easy A and he really cares about students. Its hard not to get an A in this class. Show up, prepare for you speeches and you'll do fine. Almost everyone in the class always gets an A on their speed. Most homework or quizzes are done as a class. He's also hilarious.

Not really a fan of the professor. 3 speeches and some classwork and homework. He is strict at first but cools down by the end of the semester. Mediocre professor and class.

The first day is scary as anything. He will seem like a nightmere but he is one of the best professors I've ever had. Just do the work and put in a good effort and you'll get an A. I'm not the best student but still did well. He gives every student the chance to succeed.

Great teacher! At the first class he makes it seem like its going to be a very hard class with a lot of work but it was not bad at all! Minimal homework and only 3 speeches. Highly suggest taking his class

Destroys everything you do in front of everyone. Also his grading is horrible. We spent weeks on preparing for a project only to get a bad grade. Apparently it wasn't what he was looking for. But wait we followed all of the grading criteria given. Could not argue back with why the grade was given. He just stands there saying yea uh huh.

He was a nice guy. But besides that the course was dumb. He reads your grades in front of the class and destroys all of your work. Very unreasonable when talking about final grades and rounding up. Completely destroyed my interest in the major at all. I wouldn't take him again if I had the option.

He is a nice guy, makes a lot of jokes, but when it comes to grading the jokes stop. If you forget an assignment on the day it is due you get a zero,no excuses. When you do the speeches he critiques you in front of everyone. Just do all the work and come to class you'll at least get a B. Just don't forget to bring in assignments on time!

If you do not have a nearly perfect speech, you are embarrassed in front of the entire class. Grading rubrics weren't gone over clearly! I am never taking another Mass Communications class ever again because of this professor. Bubbly person but grading does not reflect his personality!

He is a nice guy, makes jokes but he tells it like it is ! He doesn't let you use notes for one of the speeches at ALL! you cannot wear anything with writing or brands showing or your clothes because it is a "distraction" very very very strict teacher!!! !!

Somewhat of a nice guy. Takes time to get to know his students. First Impression means alot with this guy, so do very well on your first speech. He'll like you from then on & people he likes, he gives A's to. If he doesn't like you, drop the class.

Professor Seaman's class was terrible. It made me have nervous break downs frequently. We had to give four speeches that were scrutinized and just torn apart every single time. Mark is a nice person outside of class but he is not a very good teacher. the other work was easy though, but speeches were unbearable. i wouldn't recommend this class AT AL

He is a good teacher, but a little arrogant. His class is fair, he grades hard on the first speech. The third speech where you have to give a speech with no notes is a little ridiculous but overall he is good. stick with it and you will get an A
