Comment:

I tried to meet with him multiple times, and all he did was talk about himself. I made an 89.5. He told me he would bump it but didn't. He's so rude and was very difficult to get in contact with because he always sent me to his TA. Lectures are stupid because none of it is on the tests. He's also very unprofessional. Material was easy though

Comment:

Dr. Welford is an amazing lecturer and keeps the lectures current in his World Regional Geography class. If your looking for a different outlook, he's a good example and isn't caught up by politics. His class featured an online portion that makes the exams and HW very convenient.

He provided extra credit video quizzes which were technically mandatory, but would only provide partial credit. Dont expect to make an A, its pretty much impossible.

Comment:

Words cannot describe how awful this professor was. He was rude in his emails, absolutely unwilling to help students who had questions, and he seemed clueless to the fact that without a microphone it sounded like he was speaking into a napkin. Tests are timed and basically impossible. Lots and lots of online homework/ lengthy discussion posts.

Hes this British dude that has pretty entertaining lectures, a super interesting person. His tests are hard. You need to read, and theyre still difficult. HW due like once a month, about 2 projects, good bit of extra credit.

He is the most interesting teacher i have ever had. he gives up to 5 points to your over all grade if you dont skip class. the tests are all online and are hard if you dont study for them

He's a good person, but I didn't like him as a teacher. In class, he went over the "broad topics," while the tests are over the specific things. All of the assignments are online, but taking notes/listening in class didn't help me on the tests at all. Plus, the exams are timed 40 minutes for 40 questions. Not to mention discussions and homework

Easy A , all tests are online so you can use your notes, attendance isn't mandatory, but I would go because If you go to all the classes he adds 4 points to your overall grade. Tests are hard and nothing like lecture, but you can still get good grade if you know what your doing.

Dr. Welford has great lectures and he is super nice! However, his class requires 3 discussions, 4 tests, 2 group projects, & a lot of sapling homework. His test arent easy and they are online, but he does give random extra credit if you come to class!

Dr. Welford isn't the best... His lectures have nothing to do with the course, yet he requires attendance. He is interesting to listen to, but he is not much help with the homework or tests.

This man is the best teacher I've ever had. He's friendly, outspoken, passionate, and British. He's been to almost every country he talks about, has the best lectures, and is absolutely hilarious. His being a Top Gear fan definitely helps. Also, he occasionally gets sidetracked if you discuss Star Wars in front of him.

Had Mr. Welford for a lecture GEOG 1130, and the class overall was fairly easy. The lectures didn't really help with any of the assignments. All the assignments were online, and there were 4 main tests throughout the semester. He is a super cool guy and was very helpful with any questions you have.

Do not take this class if you're expecting a traditional Geography course! His tests had nothing to do with what he lectured in class. Graded discussions and projects harshly. He just can seem to give an A, even for extra credit participation. You don't have to use the book as the tests are different than what is found in the book.

Do not take this class if you want to keep your grades up. He and his assistants grade very harshly. The tests do not match the lectures, i even read the textbook (waste of money) and still didnt do well on the tests. And dont even expect a 100% on the projects. He doesnt even mention the projects during class. But the lectures were fun.

Highly recommend finding a different prof. His assignments are very ambiguous and he tries to make you feel stupid for not understanding them. READ HIS SYLLABUS! I've never heard of a NON-MANDATORY lecture class drop you a letter grade for not going. His class is business econ and world history MUCH more than geography. Avoid him for 1130

This class was pretty easy. There were two projects, one was a group , the other individual; straightforward and easy. Test and video quizzes were online, most of the answers too. Exam is online also and there are two attempts for it. Extra credit opportunities were easy, but you can only get them if you go to class on the day he gives them.

Absolutely terrible. Do not take his online class. His tests are super hard and he says you need to be studying 80+ hours per week to succeed. You have to do discussions but he grades them super tough. 2 projects with one being a group project. Do yourself a favor and stay away.
