Marti is honestly one of the best professors - during the COVID situation, she was motivating and her short speeches helped me more than I can express. She really cares about her students. There's 5 papers which aren't bad, just a lot of reading that goes with them. The textbook is online. The tests were difficult and I do wish she provided a guide

Marti is caring and knowledgable. Her class is a lot of work and she is a tough grader but it really pushed me this semester. I felt like there could have been a little less material and maybe a study guide or insight - but overall it was an enriching experience - get ready to work!

Marti cares a lot about her students and provides interesting lectures. she failed to specify things and there was way too much material. the tests were unnecessarily difficult for an intro class especially during the COVID situation (and I was a 4.0 student). I enjoyed the material, but was sad after each test and am now not too fond of psych

Marti is an exceptional professor, one of the best I ever had. The class was quite hard for me due to the amount of reading, the final paper and the fact that English is not my first language, but the subjects we talked about in class were really inspirational. I highly recommend!

I dont know what to say. I enjoyed listening to her lecture, very engaging. Youre gonna love it, if youre fluent in English. She mentioned about the online thing in the syllabas but not in class, make sure you check out the online learning thing, because you do get charged about $75 for it. She gives you only 55 mins for 50 ques :/ tough class

I really liked Marti and her presentations. But these tests were really hard. You also have to write five short essays through the semester. Only those things are in the grade book, so I would suggest doing some REP points. Definitely to your advantage to go to class each week. It's a MUST to read the textbook. I didn't and really regret it

Marti's classes are intense, challenging, rewarding and enlightening. You will get a lot out of the course. That said, if you are taking this graduate level course as an undergraduate prepare to be overwhelmed by the expectations and sometimes disheartened in realizing your undergrad education hasn't prepared you to meet them.

Marti is a fabulous prof. Her lectures are engaging and dynamic with real world examples and plenty of spunk. She greets you with a humble smile every lecture and wishes you well on your way out. She obviously cares deeply for her students & does her best to accommodate everyone as best as she can. Tests aren't easy, but they also aren't horrible.

Amazing Lecturer and one of the best teachers in the psychology department here at UMN. Very funny and really brings what you read about to life. Tests are difficult, but if you read all of the material and go to lecture it should be a breeze.

Marti is amazing! Not only is she a fabulous instructor, but she is exceptionally brilliant, funny, quick witted, worldly, honest, fair, stylish, and very real. I couldn't name one person that doesn't LOVE her! Warning: She has a tendancy to transform her students' passion into social psychological research.

SUCH an interesting class, but so many ideas and concepts are taught and its not really made known what you have to study, so its a bit overwhelming. But Marti is very passionate about the topic and discusses it in a way that makes it applicable to your life. You will learn a TON of great stuff, but you will have to fight for your grade. I got a B.

She is always excited and very knowledgeable. She is always in a good mood and makes class fun. Although, her tests are a little difficult.
