marty is the best professor at providence. he cracks jokes the entire class and doesnt make you do any of the reading so dont bother buying the text. his exams are either multiple choice or a take home essay and there are only 2. he tells you what you need to know and if you dont get an A in this class you should cry

worst professor ive ever encountered at PC. i cannot sit through a class without cringing or rolling my eyes at EVERY word he says. lectures are so boring and difficult to get through that it didnt even matter that the tests were easy. however, if you are not opinionated and dont know much about poltiics/soc, it prob wont bother you

Dr. Barroll is a very nice man and a great professor. You must enter the class with an open mind and you will like it. To get an A on tests you need to write exactly what he wants to hear. Hes a fair grader and a great teacher. Is also pretty funny at times. He knows so much and you learn a great deal. Take him for sociology.

So boring. Such a closed-minded man. Worst class of the semester-- he's really firm in his beliefs and refuses to entertain anyone else's views. However-- I didn't do a single reading the entire semester, so if you're looking for that, SOC 101 is good.

I agree, he's a goofball. His class is kind of a joke; he assigns things and forgets them. It's very easy not to do anything and still be able to answer his questions. Plus, he canceled the final last semester. Only gave two essay exams, one take home. It will be boring, but easy.

big goofball. There's a lot of assigned reading, but he's so disorganized that you don't get around to discussing it. Most classes are either lecture or discussion and there's VERY FEW tests (midterm, exam, final) and no quizzes. He likes to call on people on the spot though and make sure you're paying attention.

Real sweet, funny guy. Disorganized which lets students get away with not doing homework or having exams. Loves what he does - makes the class interesting. Exams are easy & the only other assignments are short summaries of movies that you don't need to watch (look for online summary). Great guy, great teacher; take him.

Barroll is a little out there, but its still a really fun class to take. Pretty much you'll talk about conspiracy theories all the time. Alot of reading, but you don't really have to do it all because he is so disorganized. Will do whatever the students want - I suggested no final, and we had no final. Pretty easy.

An extremely helpful and caring teacher. Some of his topics and rants tend to be all over the place, and he often talks about random things in class. He does propose many questions that make his students think, and opens your minds to new ideas and concepts. An over all nice guy who cares about his students. I suggest him!
