Theres not enough space for me to explain why you need to AVOID this professor. I read prior reviews and thought I could handle it. They were spot on. I passed, and it took a lot of will-power. If you MUST take this class, id still wait. If you cant wait, try harder to find a way to wait. If you still cant wait, just remember its only temporary

AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!!! Lectures are a waste of time. Buying the textbook is a waste of money. Does not grade assignments until the end of the semester so you do not know your grade. Will never take again because of the amount of unnecessary stress from pointless assignments, quizzes not mentioned in class, opinionated lectures & last minute grades

AVOID PROFESSOR! Dont buy the text b/c you wont use it. Lectures in class are based on opinions & not about whats graded. Took 16 online quizzes (30-50 questions) & none of them were covered in class & were the majority of the class grade. Didnt grade ANY assignments until the last week of class then told me to resubmit some. Doesnt reply to emails

Lecture is sooooooooo boring. She doesn't let you out early, but hold you late. you can use the textbook to gain more knowledge, but to save some tome the majority of the answers are online at quizlet and you can get a easy A. Don't waist your time reading it because its pointless. The final is not based on the book.

Tests online, but lengthy and difficult. Answers in the book don't match up with answer she wants for the exams either! Definitely need the textbook bc she doesn't actually teach, so you're teaching yourself. Incorporates personal opinions into everything, and judges you if you think differently. Didn't feel welcome at all, will never take again!

Get ready to teach yourself. Prof. never lectures or actually teaches. Sits and preaches her opinions rather than facts. will try and avoid for rest of my degree! Exams are long and online, except for the final. If answers don't match EXACTLY what she "thinks is best fit" than they're wrong! Assignments are lengthy and worth practically NOTHING!!!

Class is completely pointless and a waste of time. She rarely discussed anything that is if actual help or on topic at all. Basically teaching yourself. Long tests that are worth air of points. Actual assignments aren't worth anything and make you not want to waste your time completely them. If you have the choice, take a different professor.

AVOID AVOID AVOID worst professor I've ever had. Very stuck in her ways and won't open her mind to see others opinions. Only thinks that you will be wrong and she is right. Doesn't actually teach. All tests are online except the final but they are very long and questions reflect her personal opinions rather than facts from the book. AVOID.

Professor Cook gave me back my excitement for teaching. She gives you many, many ideas on curriculum and fun ideas for working with the kids.

Professor is very unorganized. Although the work is easy there are tons of quizzes each week and you do tons of small projects that you never know what the grade is. Stay away!!!!! She also doesn't respond to emails. Beware, you will spend extra money for CPR card & DCF course (approx. $50-60) that's not included with textbook. You've been warned!

Mary Cook is a horrible teacher. This professor does not care about early child development. DCF almost pulled out from FSCJ's Early Education Program years ago because of Mary Cook. Mary Cook does not accommodate her students in any way.

A lot of work. 3-6 quizzes a week online plus ridiculous assignments. Although I did all the work, I failed this class because I didn't complete two online quizzes. FINISH ALL QUIZZES. I'm here to warn you, it doesn't matter how great of a job you do on your other work, you must complete the online quizzes!

You have NO idea what you are being graded on and what anything is worth. The text is very expensive and is opened ZERO times during class. She is very biased towards childcare. She will require you to take a FACE-TO-FACE CPR course and a 5 hour online DCF course or you won't pass. She repeatedly told people not to be "anal" about their grades.

THis professor is wonderful, in my opinion. Professor had a lot of quizzes but only about 10 questions a piece, and they were word for word from the textbook. A lot of projects but they are fun and easy. Only concern is she focuses all on daycare and VPK settings and not regular classrooms.

This professor knows her stuff. She gives you a lot of work but it is super easy. There are no due dates so you turn things in at your own pace. This course had 9 quizzes, each with about 100 questions. I'd take her again.

AWESOME PROFESSOR :) In this course you have 1 research paper on a special needs, 5 kid book reviews, a ton of quizzes online that are done at your own pace, and just a few creative things such as a cooking activity. Overall this class has a ton of work that is BEYOND easy. If you fail it is you own fault. Do all your work and you'll pass. EASYEASY

Awesome teacher! She truly knows her stuff. She knows what she wants and how she wants it. Make sure you do everything that is asked of you. Everything she presents or does in the class is helpful for your later yrs as a teacher. Take her knowledge and lock it away! AWESOME don't miss out! :)

This professor is awesome. At first I wasn't a big fan due to not having due dates. This is so we learn time management. There is a lot of hands on work which is fun and creative. She loves her job and it shines through her every time you step into the classroom. Also, she is very sweet and helpful. Everything she does is to help us later on.
