She's definitely passionate about the subject. Lectures were sometimes enjoyable. Tests were excessively long. Also grades your papers through an online plagiarism site. On the paper you get an F, C or A. Everytime I used a famous persons name, or the word "the" it would pop up as copyright. I got an F on it. I told her about it she changed to a C.

She is awesome! She's made my experience at WIU worthwhile. Her door is always open and she would help me with anything I asked for. She is very approachable and easy to get to know. Her passion for SPED has influenced me in so many ways. I am so thankful I have had the opportunity to have her for 4 classes.

I absolutely love Dr. Jensen! She is very helpful and interested in Special Education. i had the 7:30am class, but she still made it worth going to. She is pretty easy, she doesn't give test which is very nice. Take Jensen if you can!

Dr. Jensen is an extremely easy teacher, but I found her class to be more story time then an actual academic class. She gets off topic VERY easily and could spend the whole class telling stories which she has. Rarely finish the notes and covered 1/2 of what we were supposed to. If you want an easy teacher I would take her but don't expect much info

Dr. J is the perfect teacher! Extremely helpful, understanding, very experienced and insightful about teaching, and super fun and friendly. I took the 7:30 section and it wasn't bad because she's aware if things start to get boring so she'll look up a youtube clip or tell a story. I also have her for SPED 320 and that is also an outstanding class!!

Comment:

There is something very commendable to be said about Mary Jensen. Hers is the perfect class to take early in the morning because not only is she NEVER in a bad mood, you can just sit back and listen to her stories and truly benefit from what she has to share. She genuinely cares about you and wants to help you in any way she can as you go out into the world. She has an attitude where she knows that this class is just a small part of your coursework as a prospective teacher, and she wants to give you what she can while you're with her. The tutoring you do for this class is very worthwhile if you take it seriously. All in all, Mary loves her work and has a great deal of compassion for everyone. Highly recommended.

I took Jensen at 7 30 in the morning and I found her class to be interesting. I never missed a day which meant that I recieved 20 extra credit points which managed to keep me @ an A after I failed the final. Her quizes were mostly in class and even when she gave an actual quiz it was so easy and more common sense then anything.

I really enjoyed class with Dr. Jensen. I took the 7:30am section...and did find myself missing a lot of class, which sucks b/c I missed a lot of quizes. I found her book actually be 'interesting' to read and followed along with the course information quite well. She was a really fun teacher and I would reccomend her to anyone!

I loved her. I was depressed doing the school year and she gave me the name of a counselor and everything. She is a great teacher full of useful ideas. She always has a smile. She used a textbook we could actually use again! Love HER!

Super nice lady..i do believe she's omish or sumthin though..haha..lady hasnt watched t.v. in like 8 years. either way..omish or not...she's an awesome person...and her class is very interesting...she has a lot of great videos and stories..very experienced...i recomend her.
