Love Mary and it is an interesting class. The downside is that you have to read 3 books and write papers for each.

Comment:

Dr. Senter is very flighty and her lectures are horribly boring. She is a kind woman who offers a lot of outside help, without it I would not have passed the exams. Class is optional, but she gives you in class daily assignments for 2 points a piece. Overall, the class was difficult.

tough teacher but is always giving students the opportunity for extra help. There's three large papers based on qualitative and quantitative studies in 3 books. She holds extra hour sessions that are a big help. If you go, she will help write your paper. She's tough, but she cares.

She is very caring and is always available to help. She is very upbeat. The lectures can be boring but she tries to make them fun. She is very energetic. The class is very informative. I actually learned a lot.

She is very nice and is always available when I need help with anything. The lectures can be a bit boring and you have to go because she does daily activities that count for points. The worst part is the long papers you have to do, but thankfully there aren't many. One of mine was 24 pages and it took me many hours. The class is okay.

Comment:

She's as enthusiastic as possible about this subject even though it is terribly boring. The tests all crept up on you and I felt I was never prepared to go into an exam and did horribly on them all. She is very helpful and holds extra office hours around the due dates for the BIG papers, which does really help. She is great, the class is awful.

Comment:

She is a very helpful professor and she goes above and beyond to help her students. For the two research papers she help extra office hours in the classroom and would stay there until everyone's questions are answered. Yes, this course is hard don't let the grade on this site fool you, a lot of people do bad, just ask for help.

As boring as Methodologies was, Dr. Senter made it a bit more interesting with her outside examples and enthusiasm. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you definitely should go if you want a decent grade. Need help? Dr. Senter is there! She is very flexible and is eager to help if you need her.

Mary Senter is undoubtedly the most helpful professor I have ever had. Although her class was difficult, there is no one better I would have wanted to teach it. She has way more office hours than she should and A LOT of study sessions and offers a lot of extra credit or ways to catch up on assignments. Keep up with the work and you will do fine.

This is a very difficult class with a lot of long assignments, you will have to work hard to get a good grade. Mary is very helpful, the most helpful professor I have ever had, holds extra study sessions to help with the assignments. Ask for extra help and you got it. She is also very entertaining to listen to, she is a bit of a looney toon.

Comment:

She is helpful and passionate about Soc. but is also very long-winded and scatterbrained. She is always willing to help you out and tests are fairly easy. Sometimes there are complicated assignments that take way too long to do.

Dr. Senter is very scatterbrained, but she is the most helpful professor I have ever had. I haven't met any professors other than her that would come for extra help on Sundays! She goes out of her way for her students, even though her classes are difficult. Make sure you go to class, and get the work done.

Very hard class for me. But she was very helpful when i visited her office hours. i never used the book besides as extra help for studying for final. Lets you use a notecard full of notes for all exams. hw assignments are hard, but she drops one. gives you attendence pts which helps to up your pts.

Words that describe Mary Senter: Treacherous, belittling,vindictive,inconsiderate, and totally vile! She doesn't care about students and grades poorly. Her deadlines are unrealistic. Her exams are hard and the study guide is useless. Unless you are really smart and can handle a inconsiderate woman with an obsession of note cards- DON'T TAKE HER.

Worst prof. I've ever had. I've been at CMU for 4 years, and have never had such a hard prof. She doesn't grade well. My partner and I worked together and got the same answer. She gave him full points, and me a 0. Weird. Can't stand her class. She's unfair, and doesn't care about her students.

Dr. Senter is by far my favorite teacher! She makes herself available to students all the time, she provides extra office hours and responds quickly to emails. I recieved an A in the class granted I went to class and did well on all assignments. Go to class and you will do well!

Ignore all the negativity! She is wonderful. This class was tough, but she made it manageable. There are lots of points from assignments, she drops the lowest score, has TONS of extra hours, I feel like she never left school. She is very helpful and if you're willing to work hard, you will succeed, and enjoy what you've learned! TAKE HER!
