Fava is an alright professor if you do what she says. She goes over things that will be on her exams. She gives you the topics and all you have to do is memory. She does have an attitude but I thinks it's because no one seems to care. She does brag how she learn multiple languages. If you memorize and do hw you will pass.

constantly goes off on incoherent rants usually about Mussolini. Talks over every movie and spoils major plot points right before they happen. Each class is about 30 minutes of nonsense, 30 minutes of watching a movie and 15 minutes of her trying to figure out how to work the projector.

easily one of the worst professors i've ever had. she thinks because she's able to learn 3 languages with ease, you have no excuse. she's so nasty and disrespectful to students who have a difficult time and spends half the class yelling at us for not knowing the material or talking about her glory days in italy. be prepared to teach yourself.

She is an amazing Italian professor. She prepares you in advance for her exams. Her exams are easy as long as you listen and look over the text book youll definitely do well in her class. Write down notes!!

Professor Fava expects respect from her students. A lecture before the test she will let you know what to focus for the test so taking notes is extremely important because it will be for sure in the test. Her test are multiple choice/writing . For the final paper go to the writing center because she is a tough grader.

You will definitely watch some very interesting movies in this class. Unfortunately she ruins the experience because she talks through every movie. Took half of each class ranting about random topics not related to the movies. Couldn't understand what she was saying which made it very hard to study for the tests. Nice woman but not a great prof.

She's horrid. The most uninspiring prof. I've EVER had. She's nasty and yells at the entire class. Her accent is so think you can't understand her. Don't expect her to write anything on the BB. Don't expect help or clarity. Expect to be treated as a 7th grader. If your entire class doesn't understand you, it's not us. She should retire. RUN FAST!

Not a joke of a cinema class some people expect it to be. Otherwise it is actually fun and easy if you pay attention to what she is saying. Take notes, and do the reading. The exams are exactly what she tells you in class. Overall it was an enjoyable class.

Despite some of the other comments I thought this course was fine. Do the assigned homework, pay attention in class, read prior to class, and you'll do fine. It is not a difficult class at all. If you need clarification after class she is always available and it is well advised to take advantage of that.

Okay, let me start by saying that I speak French fluently so that is the only advantage I had in this Italian class. Her accent is THICK and she doesn't explain well. But because I am multilingual I am able to do well in her class. She emphasizes tutoring and she is right because I don't think she teaches the material well. Study The Textbook!

This teacher literally sucks. She does not respect her students and screams at them for asking a question. She is no help at all, can't understand her accent and expects you to already know what she is teaching you. Goes on and on talking about her opinions on life which no one cares about.

This is perhaps the worst professor I've ever had. The movies are good. Her accent is so bad I'm pretty sure no one understands what she is saying for hours at a time. She then scolds you for not understanding her. An abominable excuse for a teacher. Just terrible.

wasn't a terrible class, the movies are cool and are fun to watch but she speaks in a very low voice and is hard to understand and becomes very painful to listen to and kind of frustrating to sit through.

By far the WORST professor I have ever had. Hard to understand due to her accent…did not express her thoughts clearly either. When asked questions, she would just dismiss them and not answer the request. She was not respectful towards her students and I would NEVER RECOMMEND TAKING ONE OF HER CLASSES.

Absoluely awful. Hard to understand. Rambles and goes on tangents irrelevant to class. Gives world opionions far too much. Tests are hard however she tells you everything that will be on it the class before the test.

She is an excellent teacher and educator but is very old school. A major flaw of hers is that she treats the class like they are still in high school and yells at the entire class when a few students aren't paying attention or are being disruptive. However, if you show up, pay attention and show that you want to learn, you'll do well.

Show up, take notes on what she says, participate, and you will get an A. Seriously, if you participate and act intrigued you will get an A. Only a few homeworks that take 5 min, tests are pretty much all about the movies with very few from the text (she always tells you what youre going to see on the exam about the movies.
