Professor Dixon is a very nice guy. I took LATN203 with 3 other people and he is very friendly. He takes his subject seriously, but still jokes around in class. I am now taking his LATN204 class and if there were any other classes that I would need to take with him in them, he would be my first choice.

My favorite professor at USI - very clear, passionate about the subject, and just a smart, interesting person. Dr. Dixon is very helpful, but do keep up with the material! There is a good deal of reading - probably too much for a non-major - but it's fascinating.

Wow, prof. Dixon is amazingly articulate. If you like listening to a teacher teach about something they love then this is the class. Don't take this course too early in the morning because Greek history is rough in the A.M. Overall he makes the class fun and will call out a student if he/she is acting up. This is the first history class i liked.

Prof Dixon is very interesting to listen to, and you can also tell that he is very passionate for this subject. Though with that said inless you are a history major or someone that loves ancient/hellenistic Greece i would stay clear of this class. The tests are dang near impossible you really have to stay on top of everything if you even want a C.

Hard class, if your not a history major do not take any of his advanced classes before you talk to him first. He is willing to help anyone but the content of the read is boring, his test are fair if your a history major. Nice man, friendly and respectful.

By far the worst professor I have had in my college career. He was very rude and snobbish and had his favorites and if you were not one of them you would not do well in his course because he doesn't treat everybody equally. This is the worst professor I have ever had

His class on Ancient Greek history was a lot of fun. He really makes the material interesting. It was a joy going to class everyday. His tests are very hard though as is his required paper. Make sure that you buy the required texts as these will be crucial for referencing in order to get a good grade in this class.

Took him for Latin and World Civ. I am going to take at least three more semesters with him. He is amazing. He's helpful, understanding, funny, smart as hell, and very clear about what he expects from you. Yeah he's a little difficult but hello its college.
