Comment:
He's a rigorous grader, but if you meet with him before papers, you'll be fine. He takes grading very seriously, but he's a really nice man who cares about his students. He's incredibly smart and welcomes any and all questions. He has little write-ups due each week on what you read, but they really aren't bad. I looked forward to attending class.

Does a decent job guiding class discussion and will make sure everyone who wants to understand the material does. Going to office hours help tremendously, and are really a must for an A paper. Go, and you will come out knowing what you need toHas high minimum standards, but if you reach them, is pretty easy. Not nearly as bad a grader as claimed.

Excellent professor--one of CUA's best. Tough but fair. More than happy to help you if you ask. (Use his office hours!) If you do the readings and come to class, and ask for help if you need it, you will be fine.

Dr. Gorman is one of the best prof's I've ever had at CUA! Has a double-PhD, can literally philosophize circles around anyone else. If you want to learn how to think and philosophize, take his class. If you don't want to work hard, go somewhere else- he's a tough grader. If you're struggling, go to him for help BEFORE you submit papers.

extremely knowledgeable but horrible teacher. seems to be on your side, until he grades your paper and rips you a new one. I would highly recommend NOT taking his course if you care about your GPA

Definitely one of CUA's best. Clearly enjoys teaching and respects his students. The class is a mixture of lectures (which are actually quite entertaining) and discussions. He won't baby you; you get out of it exactly what you put in.

Nice guy, lectures get pretty boring though. Kind of hard class, will give you study guides for tests, but expect questions not included in them.

Dr. Gorman is a great teacher. He is invested in the class and will work hard for you if you work hard for him. The class was mostly discussions and lectures, and the tests aren't easy. But if you are interested in Philosophy, the class is great.
