Dr. Marchetti loves his 8ams, but he's funny so you'll get through them. There is a short quiz at the end of every lecture - but think of it as free points, because they stack up and you'll need them! I wouldn't want to take ecology from anyone else.

He was a professor from Davis, so during his first year he was pre-programmed to be skeptical of CSUC students and their intellectual ability (we went to chico because we couldn't get into Davis). Comment:

Conservation Ecology class was tough because it was time consuming and required studying but the professor was clear in his teaching. Power point slides and lecture make up most of the class so you need to attend. Take good notes and do the study guides and you will do fine. Marchetti is very clear in what he is looking for.

this class was extremely interesting to me, i really enjoyed it. it was also the hardest class i have ever taken at chico state. he has very high expectations. i worked my butt off for this class-like 8 hours of non-stop studying for his tests and still got a C+. if you want a challenge take the class

He is NOT hot.. those other pple must have been siting in the back row! class is ridiculous, pretty easy to sit or sleep through .. but be ready to die for the tests ... all short answer prep for 50 q's and respond to 10.. phrases he says all the time- "..uhh thats pretty cool right?" "not alot of people have ever been there.." "****!"

Marchetti makes Biology fun! He is into fish, so be ready for a lot of examples using them, or he is unsure (but willing to tell you that he doesn't know) when it comes to plants. Tests for Conservational Bio are easy-just get in a group and split up the work...He basically GIVES you the test!!!

Extremely knowledgeable and an effective instructor. Communicates very high expectations, but at times failed to hold all students to same standard. A mostly pleasant personality, with some snotty interludes.
