Piovoso teaches at a number of schools. At Swarthmore, his lectures are meandering and hard to understand, and his hearing issues make it hard for him to answer questions, although he clearly knows the topics well, is passionate about the subject, and cares about his students. Go to review sessions and use Minitab!

This is overall a tough class. Dr. Piovoso is soft spoken and hard of hearing, but he is very helpful if you ask him for help. He is also an easy grader, however the home works and take home tests are very hard. You will likely spend 8+ hours per weekend trying to get the assignments done. This course heavily uses Matlab and Simulink ($99).

One of the BEST professors, I have met in my life. I am lucky to have learned from him and hopefully had made it better than A grade to satisfy his expectations. May god bless him

Dr. Piovoso was timely in his responses to any questions I had through email and was available for help outside of class. He was also very good at answering questions we had on homework or exams in class.

Comment:
Frequently made mistakes when writing equations on the board. When the answer didn't come out correctly, wasted the next 15 minutes back tracking to see where he messed up. He did not know the subject matter well which caused confusion all around. Nice guy though.
