Mickey Geiser is a very warming lady. She is great! Very interesting and hilarious. If you do all the work and turn it in you are guarenteed an A. No doubt about it. She is very understanding, and doesnt grade on grammar AT ALL. She gets you into politics. I LOVED this course.

Interesting lady, a little eccentric, but very passionate about politics and this class. She'll definitely get you more into politics. The class overall was pretty easy. She likes a lot of class participation, so give her some input every now and then and you'll do fine.

She is a nice woman. I had a hard semester and she still worked with me, I slacked off and still got a B. Weekly papers, if you do them, you get an A on them. Midterm is a **** and so is the final (5 and 10 pages, and she means it with page lengths!) but other then that it's alright. She just rambles about being a democrat most of the class time

DO NOT, I repeat, do not buy the book for her particular class. You do need the Sagebrush book-midterm based on book. Waste of money since her class is essay based. Every week there is a short essay due and its not book based. I got an A because I busted my booty... Midterm is 5 pages (25%), final 10 pages (25%), trust me, she means page length.

Great class, very motivating. I voted for the first time in years. She loves to hear your opinion if you can back it up. A lot of writing and a little research. If you do your work you will be fine.

Bad teacher. None of the tests or lectures have anything to do with the topics she rambles on about for hours. Nothing she talked about in class related to the text. The only reason to go to class is because she takes attendance and if you miss so many classes it affects your grade. The class would of have been interesting if someone was teaching.

If you are fine with writing essay then this class is for you. Almost each week a paper is due. Most of the papers are one page response paper, the midterm is 5 pages, and final is 10 pages. She has two quizzes, but they are very easy. YOu do it at home and memorize the anwser and do the quiz in class.

Weekly papers are due, but if you write something that does not agree with her political views you will loose points on it and she will never give you a chance to talk in class. she never uses the book only to read the constitution. the one good thing is that you only have 2 quizes; but a 5 page midterm and a 10 page final are due.

Awesome lady who will challenge you to speak the f up in class! Not for the timid, but if you're not shy, you will do well in her class. Basically, just write your essays and try to make a comment or two at every class meeting. I'm terrified of public speaking but even I got an A in this class. Best advice I can give: BE PREPARED FOR CLASS. READ BEYOND HER ASSIGNMENTS and make some notes about what you can say in class and then BE READY TO SAY IT!! If you're unprepared, yeah, she WILL call you out on it!!

I hated this teacher, all she did was talk about the election (when i was in her class) and nothing about the acutal class itself, I could have not even showed up and Aced the class! Also a word to the wise don't spout your opinion in her class unless it is the same one as hers due to the fact, she will actually mark you down on papers and her acutally overal opinion of you! Just DONT take her class!

Socratic method of teaching. Meaning, she likes to debate, talk, listen. Instead of the boring ass lectures, you'll be able to at least jump into a discussion. Geiser is pretty dang cool....possibly the best teacher I've come by at UNLV.

Shes a hilarious lady, and extremely open-minded. She is very liberal, but as long as you can argue your point effectively, and you are not rash or completely closed-minded, she open to all sorts of opinions. I loved her because we actually got to debate, sit in a circle and have group discussions, and your entire grade is based on essays; even the midterm and final were take home. She and her husband cracked me up. Also, brush up on the Patriot Act & read the book 1984 beforehand, trust me.
