Never again. Please, save yourself before taking her. She's nice, but she cannot teach worth anything. She has the worst grading system-if you do bad on one assigment/quiz, it puts your grade in jeopardy. The books you read are ok-they have a good message but are a pain to read.

Seriously would rather have bamboo skewers shoved up under my fingernails than ever have to have a semester with this lady again. I felt like in 6th grade english again where we had circle reads. You read five books over the semester, she has pointless quizzes, and there are like not even 100 points in the class. Awful does not do just!

Her class is pointless. She smiles all the time but she's so mean. She said "everyone can get an A in my class" but actually just 1 or 2. She requires 6 paper and presentation and final paper. very strange taste on papers. good luck if you take her.

I like her class. She's a very caring professor. When I had her class last time, there was a Graduate Assistant as well. Both of them were fun ppl...We had movies and they would bring food to the class.I had 6 papers, one presentation and final paper for the entire semester. I got an A anyway. I don;t think it was hard.

I am a guy, and i didn't see any favoritism as was mentioned in another posting. It's true that her assignments weren't always clear at first, but she answered every question until it was clear. I think the best thing about her is that she really cares. She treats the class like a real world context and addresses real world concerns.Two Thumbs UP!

I liked the papers we wrote, but I didn't like the busy group work. I already knew a lot about research writing from high school. I liked the final results for all of my papers, though. She's pretty good about letting you choose your own topics. And she's nice and helpful. I'd take her again.

Probably the best professor at IUP. Willing to help, and that was the first class where I got to know every classmate's name! We had potluck lunch, film shows and lots of fun! Would definitely take her class again If I can.

Everything is either group work or busy work, usually both. Many annoying small assignemnts that nobody cares about. Teaches things that students have learned repeatedly in high school. Class feels like junior high again. Lectures are boring& pointless. Wants perfect MLA format, yet hasn't taught it

My class called her "Nazi. She treated everybody like children, with the exception of a few women in their 30's. I took this class at a branch campus, which may make a difference. We all learned more from the libraians because that's where she refered us any time there was a question.
