Comment:

I took ASL 2 during the summer, and I loved it!!! The curriculum was taught faster, which meant we had more homework to do more regularly as well as we needed to be there in order to keep up with the concepts we are being taught. Professor Davis is awesome! You will love her! If you are able to take one of her classes, do it! It is a fun class!!!

Comment:

She is an amazing teacher. If you want someone who is willing to work with you, take her! She is funny and she makes learning American Sign Language (ASL) fun! I strongly recommend her for anyone who is taking ASL 1. You do need to participate because her philosophy is, "You learn better if you apply what you learn;" but she is amazing!

professor pam was sweet but she grades hard. I attended her class everyday and was still struggling. shes been teaching asl for a long time so by the third week she expects us to be a good signer.

I loved this class. Pam is a tough grader and isnt to specific on what she wants some times but overall shell answer any questions you have and shes very funny. Shes one of the most outgoing, caring teachers Ive ever met. Id recommend her to anyone, ASL 1 was great.

Tough grader on submitted videos. Homework is pretty easy and all online. The class can pretty much be self taught, in class is all reviewing and practicing.

I loved taking ASL 1, Pam is a really good teacher but she isnt very specific on what she wants us to do for homework. She just expects us to already know what to do. Overall I liked the class and I would recommend to anyone interested in ASL.

Comment:

Professor Davis is an amazing professor she helps her students a lot. She puts a lot of time in to work with her students so that they can succeed. You have to be willing to work hard and put in the time and your best efforts to succeed in her class. I have learned a lot from being in her class. I would recommend taking her ASL class.

Comment:

She cleary doesn't want her student's to get A's. She'll grade your homework in 15 seconds and somehow can figure out you're missing points. Her tests are HARD and she signs very fast as if we've been signing for years like her. Avoid this class if you're taking it just to get a GE requirement.

I've taken pam for past ASL classes and she was awesome but with 4 she struggles. there is no signing only talking and is unclear of her grading. We did nothing but finger spell and the children story just be ready for all her random homework because this is the last class for that AA.

Professor is amazing! So sweet and caring always willing to help you out whenever you need it . Just come to class everyday and do all your hw and it'll be a breeze!!! Only bad thing I have to say is our si leader was totally rude ... She acted like she ran the class and told us to be quite even tho Pam never addressed us being loud !

Such a nice caring teacher she makes sure you understand all the signs perfectly. Her class is very fun. You also have to go to one deaf event and write a paper on it. Test are very easy and clear.

Amazing at teaching ASL. She is not deaf, so don't be swayed on your first day to try to get away with things. She is clear at explaining signs, will go back again, specifically for you, if you are confused, considering that many of you will be at first if this is your first experience in ASL. Many class opportunities for you to become more fluent.

PAM is AMAZING!!! She is always willing to help and do whatever she can. She makes class fun and enjoyable for everyone but is pretty strict on a no talking policy! if you plan to take ASL pick her!!!!

Pam is awesome! I loved this class and, despite everything that happened this semester, this was the only class I made a point attending, if I couldn't attend any others. She's so sweet and her class was so easy. Just show up and do the assignments and you're good to go! I wish I could go on about how she is! There's not enough space!!!

professor Davis is amazing and probably the best asl instructor at Bakersfield college, if you are going to take asl 1 you need to take it with her, I've also notice there is a lot of girls that take this class? not sure why but definitely a plus. book is mandatory

Pam is a very nice lady. I greatly enjoyed her class. BUT she wasn't very organized and she spoke way too much for an ASL class. Also she had a tendency to forget that we had Deaf students in our class and went on and on talking and forget to interpret what she way saying :-(

I agree with most of the statements on here. She is a wonderful person, but not the greatest teacher. I would recommend her as long as it isn't for ASL 1. If you already have the love for ASL that I do then she is a great teacher.
