Comment:
Dr. Grabner is not bad in person, but an unfavorable professor. Sometimes she reteaches her materials and takes points off on the smallest mistakes. Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss her class you will be lost. Although you will learn some new stuff. If you want a tough professor to challenge yourself, she will be a good fit.

Dr. Grabner isn't as scary as expected.. her projects/quizzes are done in class and you can work with your group to complete them. Her teaching style is very old and she can be very unorganized and reteach lessons. She doesn't take attendance but if you miss class you can't make up what you missed for credit.

Comment:
Dr. Grabner is such a sweet lady if you talk to her after class! Besides that point, her teaching methods are outdated and far too disorganized! She will spend a few days on an easy topic and breeze through harder topics. Often times she will forget that she taught a lesson and reteach it. Her project quizzes are graded too harshly!

Comment:
Dr. Grabner is a decent lady when she's not teaching. When she's in the classroom she is extremely rude and wants you to fail. She'll lecture for 35 minutes then give you a paper about something completely different and grade you on it. Then her tests made no sense and they're worth the majority of your grade. I wouldn't suggest taking her

Comment:
She regularly stops in the middle of lessons because she forgets what she's talking about in the middle of class. She also gets angry when you outright say you don't understand something. She doesn't take attendance, but don't be that person because you will fail. She also gives homework but doesn't collect it and tests are difficult. Get a tutor.

Comment:
Dr. Grabner is not up with the ages. She doesn't post anything online besides your homework assignments, and yells at your if you do a problem differently then she does even if you are correct in the end. She needs to be more current with her teaching style and problem solving methods. You will struggle if you don't go everyday or buy her notes.

Comment:
The class is not difficult primarily because it is lower level math. However, Dr. Grabner is not the professor to take it with. I actually had to walk her through problems she tried to teach to the class. Need I say more?

Comment:
I cannot say one positive thing about Dr. Grabner, though I wish I could. Asking questions in class will get you nowhere, she gets frustrated. On many occasions she has outright insulted and been rude to students during class. Do not expect e-mail responses. Your grade depends on how much she likes you. She says "um" and "uh" in every sentence.

Comment:
Do not even bother asking her a question if you are unsure of something; she gets frustrated easily, repeats the exact wording she gave during lecture, and does not answer the question anyway. (Ask a friend or classmate instead). Her mood on the day dictates how you will be graded and treated. Non-existent email communication.

Comment:
It is very hard to sit through Professor Grabner's classes. Although she does not take attendance and she doesn't collect homework, her class is still challenging. This math isn't the typical algebra. She spends too much time focusing on materials that we already know from elementary school and less on the new material. Tests are fairly difficult.

I had Dr. Grabner for 210 and 310 and she is an amazing professor. Her classes may feel long but she really nails the points you need to know through many examples. She is always willing to help. Fair tests. There are group worksheets and some count for extra credit at the end so sit with good people! Doesn't check hw and final is not cumulative!

Comment:
Dr. Grabner isn't the sweetest of professors but she is an excellent teacher. She can be repetitive simply because she wants every student to understand the material and succeed. The class content is made easy by her explanations. No attendance or checked hw but her lectures and doing the assignments make it an easy A. Definitely take!

very kind lady. is helpful and gives extra credit. i am terrible at math but i attended every class and did the homework and passed with a C. homework is assigned online which is extremely helpful and makes learning the concepts much more manageable. you do not need the textbook just the access code.

Dr. Grabner explained things very well and took as much time as needed to make sure we understood, but you have to ask questions. She doesn't give many tests, but if you understand the material, they aren't too bad. She is quite boring, especially at 8 AM, but its hard to make calculus super interesting. The textbook was a waste of money.

Dr. Grabner is a sweet old lady and she knows her subject very well. She is boring but she definitely did not make the class too hard and will always go through the baby steps of every problem. I was able to use the online textbook the entire time so I would just recommend buying the MyMathLab and using the etext to save money.

I have Dr. Grabner for Elem Math I. The class is hard because it is looking at math in a different way than we are used to, however Dr. Grabner is very helpful if you had any questions. You have homework for every class but its to benefit you, she does not check it for a grade. If you do the homework and actually pay attention you'll be fine.

shes an awful teacher. I cant count how many times she messed up what she was teaching us. half the time she does not know what she's talking about. shes very boring. the only reason shes still teaching is b/c of her husband being the head of the math department. I know so many people who r good at math but failed this class because shes horrible.

Horrible teacher. She is a nice person however, as a professor she is very unclear, has attitude when answering your questions, e-mails, ect. I would avoid her at all costs. Especially if you are not great at math. Her tests are really hard also. AVOID!!!!!

The only reason she even still is allowed to teach is because her husband is the head of the math department. She is extremely unclear and it often times helps just to ignore what she says in class and get a tutor. Class isn't "mandatory" but she gives in class projects so you better go. Terrible class; boring, difficult and awkward.

very nice and helpful. grades are heavily based off webassign regardless of what the syllabus says. I got a tutor and the highest math i'd taken in high school prior to this was Alg2 and i managed an A. You will need to buy book and webassign which aren't cheap. does not take attendance but gave us bonus for coming once.
