Peter Hardy was by far the worst professor Ive had so far. He is a very tough grader and does not go over math concepts very well at all. If I had enough credits I would have dropped the class.

This class honestly wasn't that bad.. only because I have strong writing skills. That's right. He made us write an entire paper on probability. There aren't many exams which make them really important to pass. When Pete teaches, he goes off on tangents and loses everyone by the time he's done. It felt like he was pulling equations from nowhere.

Though it was an interesting topic, Dr. Hardy ruined any chance for me to enjoy the class through his consistently condescending tone and rude comments, both in class and on paper. I got points off for not calculating my calories, was often embarrassed in class, and received no help on confusing assignments. He had no plan and was biased. DONT TAKE

I really enjoyed taking my FYS with Pete. His incorporation of nature and mathematics into spirituality made the class very interesting. We took many trips outside, had fascinating class discussions, and even meditated. I would definitely recommend this class, as it's a great entrance into college courses for first years

Peter Hardy is such a nice guy. Extremely intelligent and knows how to connect with his students. This is easily the easiest math class I have taken since 5th grade. I didnt do any of the homework, and got at least a 100 on every quiz. He gives quizzes every friday and youre able to get 2 extra credit points. Solid choice for MAT103

Pete is such a sweet guy! Best professor I have ever had for a math course. He is super helpful in explaining questions in more depth if you are confused and is willing to give additional help at his office hours. He has quizzes every Friday but drops the lowest 2. He will give extra credit if the whole class did poorly and gives partial credit!

Super-easy grader, drops lots of quizzes, gives some extra credit, and much group work; I passed and I barely cracked open the textbook. If you're bad at math, the copious group work will get you through and he will even let you re-take the mid-term (allows a cheat-sheet). He is upbeat and caring, understands his students. Down to earth. Take him!

Hardy was a great professor. He made class fun and was completely approachable. He always wants to make sure the students understand. He is extremely funny too. And wears great sweaters. He does challenge you, but it always benefits you in the end. I HIGHLY suggest taking this class with him.

The class I took with hardy was extremely easy. I could have failed the last exam and still passed with a C. That said, he is an easy professor. He would always go over the homework based on people's questions. He is also very helpful outside class, encouraging students to come see him. I only wish I took the class when he had his AWESOME beard.

I was in a terrible spot when I took Calc. with Pete Hardy, and missed so many classes. I did not have a very legitimate excuse and he would allow me to make appointments, and would give me three or four days worth of lessons at a time. It was all my fault I did poorly in that class. Plus he's in an AWESOME Grateful Dead cover band =)

It could have been because he had never taught MAT 123 before, but he was all over the place. He would do a problem on the board full of mistakes and rarely realize it until a student pointed them out. It almost seemed sometimes he was ****, he was that bad.

I like how he showed different ways of doing things... I'm basically math stupid and I got an A- in the class with a little help from a friend. He gives bonus questions at the end of quizzes and tests and sometimes they're really easy and dont even have to do with math! He really knows what hes talking about and he explains himself well.
