He has quizzes and in class credit every time the class meets. However, if you email him that your sick, etc. you can usually do the quiz at home. he is one of the most chill professors have I ever had and he like to bring his dog into class.

Don't skip, you won't pass. Daily quizzes ranging from 25-100 points. He offers extra credit throughout and is helpful to let you make things up. If you do bad you can redo it. If you email him before you miss something, he's extremely lenient. He's smart and cares about his students. Best part, he's hot asf. I call him prof daddy to my friends.

Ancient greek is a hard language, there is a ton of homework. He doesnt take attendance but there are quizzes or homework grades given everyday so it adds up. He made the final worth 35% of the class grade and the take home part had new stuff I had never seen on it. He lets you do extra credit but if you dont do well on it he wont give you points.

If you're think of taking this class as a summer class, DON'T. If you want to spend 3+ hours a night doing homework from the large amounts of reading that takes hours to do, then this is the class for you. We get so much work at such a fast pace that you cannot get behind at all, and if you do get behind it's hard to get back up to speed.

This class is challenging. There is a ton of work and he moves very quickly. He is however pretty good about helping when you ask(typically) and is willing to work with students. everything can be corrected for a higher grade. he is not super organized though and you may have to email him several times to get an answer. class is a waste of time imo

I have mixed feelings on Peek, on the one hand he is more than happy to help on the other he is super tough and loads on the homework. Ancient Greek is by far one of the most difficult things i've ever taken and he moves very fast through the subject matter but he lets you redo anything. He sends you the textbook but plan doing hours of homework.

Prof Peek was not a bad prof. The online course was ok. As long as you did the work you should do fine. The only hard part were the essays. He'll let you redo them if there are mistakes. Which was nice of him.

It's a difficult class, but worth it. He's more than happy to help, and even goes so far as to give out his personal phone number and encourages questions. He will address issues in front of the class, but never in the interest of ridiculing or embarrassing you. He also allows you to re-do any quiz on which you have made mistakes.

This is the most useless class I've ever taken. The semester is nearly over and I've yet to actually memorize any Greek words. It's been all theory work and no vocab. Be prepared to spend hours rifling through your dictionary, trying to find definitions to words he made up.

If you are a visual learner you need to drop. or spend 3+ hours/day reteaching yourself the concepts, & then completing 2+ h of homework for each class. Everything is done vocally, even teaching of hard grammatical concepts. If you don't get it 100%, expect to be singled out&shamed infront of the class & then reminded about your mistake constantly.

He was terrible. Too much work for a 3 credit hour class. I knew online classes would be more work but this was ridiculous. he also expect his 5 papers to be mistake free and will not grade them if they are not. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

Very informative and thought-provoking class regarding Greek classics and the men who wrote them. Class was very clear and I learned a lot from it. Would take another class from this professor again.

Phil is a great teacher. I took the online summer version. We read a lot, but the readings were interesting an fairly easy. You do a quiz for every reading, but it is interpretive and not timed. You post on DBs and respond to others. You have plenty of tim to get things done. There are a lot of points and it is easy to do well. Take this class!

This is one of the few classes that was very, very easy, but I still feel I got my money's worth. The material is fantastic, but the way he teaches makes it more accessible, easy to handle, and is great as an introduction. I would have liked to be challenged more, but the instructor did a great job of getting everyone involved and making the "class" grasp the material. As this NEVER happens, it was refreshing and definately worth it.
