I took CALC twice w/ him (NC 1st time, 72% 2nd time) & I love math. I was forced to take this class bc of EXCEL and it was horrible. If u are reading this, please DO NOT take him - u will save urself money and a semester. Drop EXCEL if u need to. I studied about 2-4 hours a day for reference. Gives 3 tests/final and 5-7 hours of online stuff/p week

Don't get me wrong, he's one of the sweetest professors ever, but this course was rough. Lectures aren't that helpful, he explains things better during office hours than in lecture. LOTS of homework assignments. Exams are tough (Concept heavy, not actually solving definite problems). Possible to pass (he's very nice and understanding) just hard to.

Easily the worst professor Ive had. Average on each of the 3 tests was a 50% and he didnt curve a single one. 1 quiz a week and you arent told what questions will be on the quiz. Test questions have nothing to do with HW questions. It doesnt matter if you can solve every problem, because the tests and quizzes are theory related. STAY AWAY

Do not take this man for any class. He is horrible. The tests are not math based they are conceptual ideas that are meant to confuse and trick you. Nobody else other than this man could think of examples like this. You can understand the concepts and do amazing in homework and quizzes but the tests are what get you.

He's a nice person and all but yikes. Have to teach yourself the material, hw on new topics is due before learning it in class, and he doesn't explain how to do it then either. Recitation didn't help much and I failed most quizzes. Tests are graded ridiculously, failed them all. Even with all the extra help, this class sets you up for failure.

Mikusinski Has honestly been my favorite professor at UCF so far. Many people dislike him because his tests and assignments are extremely challenging. However, His lectures are fantastic and he is always happy to get feedback. Also one of the kindest & most passionate professor. He does curve, and tends to make the final much easier than midterms.

I SUCK at writing essays but for him, ill write a WHOLE BOOK! He is a nice guy but he awful at teaching. He expects everyone to know everything. The weekly quizzes are killing me because the TA wastes so much of our time and gives us a quiz with like 7 minutes or less to do. TOO much homework, no time to actual Study for exams. RIP.;(

Took his class a year ago. Looking back, his work was appropriate. The calculus sequence is tough. Make sure you know the concepts in and out before an exam and ask for help. Exams are made very hard, on purpose, as a weed out. You can do it, but you get out what you put in. Also, redo all quizzes, homework and clicker questions to review for exams

Prof Mikusinski makes calc 1 a tough class. Tests are not easy but if you pay close attention to the powerpoints from lecture and the class worksheets passing is possible. I'm an engineering student so I think his class was worth the struggle, but if you just need a calc 1 credit DO NOT TAKE HIM you will pour far too much time into his class.

DO NOT TAKE MATH WITH EXCEL. Mikunsinski is a nice guy however, he is a terrible professor. His exams are more concept-based than anything. No textbook for this class, just a whole ton of homework that doesn't help. If you miss one question on the homework it brings you back to 35% mastery. His excuse for bad test scores is that we don't study well

An entire essay isn't enough to describe this guy, let alone 350 char. If you struggle with math or aren't an engineer, turn right around and don't look back. Drop EXCEL if you must. If you've taken Calc before you might scrape a B. Tests are brutal, HW won't prepare you. (Got NC, attendance req. w/ iClicker, which is participation. It won't help.)

Took him for Calc 1 after passing Calc AB with 4. Had a low B for most of the class, not a class for people new to calculus, very conceptual which new people could not grasp. My class experience was definitely better than my classmates given that, class is a bunch of tricky and harder examples. I don't know how a new person could handle the class.

Loads of hw assignments. Tests are heavily conceptual rather than math. A great, funny guy but makes calc a lot harder than it should be. Class exam avgs were low, barely curves them. However, his grading style is extremely helpful: final replaced lowest midterm, hw is weighted almost equal to midterms, you could fail all midterms & pass the class.

I gave him a 2 only because he's clearly a very nice and intelligent man. HOWEVER, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Just drop out of the excel program, seriously. Tests are mostly theoretical questions taken from the likes of Cornell. Ridiculously, insanely difficult and it's not worth it at all. I'm begging you, don't take this class; you will hate life.

HORRIBLE professor, you need to teach all material to yourself, endless amounts of homework is given so you have no time to study and it is completely unrelated to what is on the tests. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR

Look don't take EXCEL calc with him if you are not an engineer major, if you are though this class will prepare you so well. for me I was not and this made calc a lot harder for me. calc is hard and the professor is a great guy very kind but his test are wicked. I never passed one until he final then passed that. for engineers he will prepare you

He's such a sweet guy and I enjoy his class. However, his tests are insanely hard, which really sucks because the tests are weighted so heavily. He tries to be really encouraging and his personality is very caring, his class is just hard. Also, for the Honors Class, it is a flipped learning style and it is homework heavy.

Had him for the second half of summer Diff Eq. Easily one of my favorite math professors at UCF. He gives information in a clear manner, and puts all the class notes online. The review classes that he does before tests were also super helpful.

Summer went bad, so I didn't show up much to be honest. What lectures I did show up were honestly quality. Probably my favorite professor for math at UCF so far. The tests really felt fair, but challenging. He would review the results of the tests afterwards, and go over the problems. Half of a summer class isn't a great judge, but still recommend
