Comment:

While Dr. Gaede is a nice professor, her lectures are poor. Many students struggle to learn from confusing lectures. However, she is easily available for office hours. 5% of your grade is lost if you miss more than 3 classes, and clicker questions (10% of grade) are in class often. Exams are hard. 70% of your grade is from exams. HW is worth 15%.

This was a difficult class. You certainly have to work hard for a good grade in this class, but she is very easily accessible for office hours. Not amazing, but okay professor.

Dr. Gaede is a phenomenal professor. She knows the material well and is invested in every student. I also had her for EE202. She will stop class if people are talking to ask if they were confused about anything, which helps those of us who don't like to speak up.

For FYE, this is an easy A. Just do a minimal amount of work (mostly attending a couple social events on campus), show up to class, and you should have no problem. Don't forget to actually do the work though (which is easy).

Overall good teacher. Can move a bit fast sometimes, but other that as long as you study you will do fine. She provides past exams as study guides and the exams are pretty similar.

Dr. Gaede is a great professor for FYE 101E. If your goal is to get an A in her class, it is not hard. However, you have to work for it. As long as you follow all of her instructions and keep up with the deadlines by turning in all of your work, you should be able to make an A.

Class is designed to get you a B with normal effort. First cpl of weeks are review; don't let that fool you. Doodoo hits fan with MIPS assembly, pipelining, and parallel programming. She builds-in basically free 20% of grade. Generous partial credit grading on tests. READ THE TEXTBOOK. Author explains concepts much better than her lectures do.

Dr. Gaede is different from most professors in that she makes sure that the majority of the class has a good understanding of the material before moving on in her lectures. Make sure to ask questions. She gives a good bit of homework out of the book, so you will need it. She will make you earn an A, but I think B's and C's are fairly common.

Dr. Gaede is a very nice lady, but her lectures half way through the semester became increasingly confusing. She was scattered and misplaced several of our assignment grades. I will give her the credit for using ANGEL and interacting with the class offering ample time to ask questions. Study guides are VERY helpful.

Comment:

Dr. Gaede is one of those professors that is used to teaching higher level courses, and it shows. She flies through material as if it's second nature to students, but she allows unlimited time for questions during the lecture. This is the only reason I'm giving her any credit. If you can avoid her for EE 202, do so for your own good.

Dr. Gaede is an excellent professor. She does a good job of conveying the material, and stresses comprehension. As some have said, she is definitely difficult, and even her "gimme" points take effort. However, if you apply yourself and study, you should get by with at least a B easily. She is also quite entertaining, which really helps.

Comment:

One of the best and most sincere instructors at UAH. Truly cares about the students and the material. Challenging architecture class, but I learned a lot. Apathetic students should expect no mercy. Good sense of humor. Rewards intelligent in-class answers with candy. Also a very competent advisor, since she co-designs the CPE program.

Great teacher, she stimulates interest in the subject matter, has a fun teaching manner and is very easy to get along with. Her tests and projects are hard. Be wary if you take 426/526 as an undergraduate because there is VERY little difference between her grad and undergrad sections.

Her tests were hard but I probably learned more in this class than any other previous courses. I would highly recommend her if you are up for the challenge.
