Comment:
For those who do not consider math as their strong suit, take another prof. Prof. Cho does not explain the material clearly, at all. He provides many examples, but never actually explains the process of solving the problems. His tests are extremely long and difficult, but he is a generous grader. A pro is that he considers 65% and above as a C.

Comment:
Do NOT take Richard Cho if you wish to learn and succeed in passing Statistics. His lectures are irrelevant and completely off topic. You basically teach yourself by reading the book, which HE said sucks! He does not do many examples on the board for you to learn. Tests are HORRIBLE! Nearly 8 pages long each, and the final is 10 pages long.

Richard Cho, where do i start. At first glance he seemed to be a teacher that knew what he was doing. After a few weeks in his class, i started noticing him repeating, going off topic, and taking an obscured amount of time going over tests leaving us with no time to go over future chapters. I strongly recommend NOT taking Cho for Math136.

He is so nice and very generous in grading. Once you done your homework and two easy project you go your half way. His lecture also sort or clear.

He is really straightforward. While he does collect homework the day of the test, you need to do it the day it's assigned. His tests are mostly problems from the homework and he's very generous with grading. Not too hard although it's understandable why some people would struggle (i.e. not enough time for the class). Overall, it's pretty easy.

He is a nice person, but teaching theory is NOT good, you have to learn the materials on your own, and most of his exams are too long and hard does not support his lecture. Last optional exam everyone walked out except 2-3 students remind in the class.

He is a generous grader. However too many examples and almost no theory in lectures. So you have to read a book a lot if you want to do well on the exams. Overall I would recommend him.

Professor Cho gives crystal clear instructions and examples regarding the material. The exams are quite difficult only if the student does not attend class and if the student does not do the homework. Overall the exams contain material a student should come out knowing of a statistics class; I recommend this professor if you want to learn something

Cho teaches what he has to teach.. It's your job to understand the materials and do your homework. Definitions are important to remember!! 4 Exams [13% ea] + 1 optional exam (lowest gets dropped). Finals [19%] + data sets [9%] + Homework. Definitely not based on a curve. The class average was usually in the 50/60's with 1 A.

Professor Cho is AMAZING & makes stats crystal clear. His lectures are straightforward with many examples from the textbook, and he makes great emphasis on important concepts with repetition. His tests are challenging but he's a generous grader. You don't have to memorize formulas, but you Do have to memorize definitions for key terms.

Comment:
Mr. Cho is a very generous grader, if you show the right formula, but get the wrong answer, he still gives you a bunch of points. He provides a list of formulas during the tests, you just need to know which formula to use for a given problem. I think he did a better job of explaining the concepts than the book did, and overall, I likes his class.

Avg professor, doesn't present the material that well, but the course is fair and straight forward. Although his tests are challenging he's a more than generous grader. Even if you struggle on tests/quizzes there are still a lot of easy points to bring up your grade. If you're a decent math student (passed Math 110 or higher), it shouldn't be hard.

Mr. Cho knows statistics, but does a very poor job of teaching it. He is very rude and when you ask questions in class, he will answer them, but with a snide remark at the end about he doesn't get why you can't understand. He does not curve tests, even when no one gets an A and only like 5 a B. I would recommend taking someone else's class.

he is an okay teacher, but his test are so hard. you literally have to read everything and listen to everything he says because he will through definition questions on his tests on terms he never even mentioned.

Professor Cho was fair and very easy. Homework is minimal, but very important - he uses modified questions from the book in his quizzes and tests. The tests are long and usually fill the period. He is very knowledgeable in statistics, but sometimes has a hard time explaining concepts in an easy-to-understand manner. Overall, recommended.

Possible to pass with a good grade, but use the book faithfully to support his notes. Couldn't agree more, he knows the subject matter well, but CANNOT teach it. He demeans students for asking questions, never completes his agenda, unnecessarily rambles on about clearly understood topics, and a few more cons. Only take if there's no other option...

Stats is not an easy class but Prof Cho made it pretty easy to understand. He curves the class. If you turn in your HW on time, have full attendance, and actually pay attention in class, u should not have a problem passing the class. He is more than willing to help his students.

I think these reviews are way off. Mr Cho's class is hard, but he give fair tests, and 28% of your grade comes from homework, attendance, and an easy paper. You do have to study and keep up, but if you do the work you can do well in this class. I made an A, but I had to work for it. He will give extra help before and after class. Nice guy!

If you are in a position where you must pass the class (if you have a deadline to meet), he isn't a good choice. Eventhough, no one knows how to properly teach 136 at GCC, I am sure there are better choices than Mr.Cho.
