Great person, awful professor. His grading is inconsistent and unpredictable. Tell him what he wants to hear and you'll do fine. He claims he loves discussion but will shut down any thought-provoking questions. If you enjoy thinking for yourself do not take him.

As a person, Slimbach is incredible. He has had so many amazing life experiences, and he definitely challenges previous misconceptions about religion and society. As a teacher, however, Slimbach is disorganized and unpredictable. His grading is strange and random. I honestly felt like my grade did not reflect the amount I learned.

Very world-wise and challenging with your views, but his classes are structured inefficiently and he requires so much reading outside of class it's almost laughable. Nice and willing to help, but the workload requires 6 hours outside of class and the assignments aren't always practically timed. This class needs restructuring.

The guy is nice, friendly...but SUPER ANAL. I walked in one time while he was taking role, and I had just missed my name by like 2 seconds. He marks you tardy all the time--even if its like two minutes. Also, his assignments are tedious and confusing. He changes his assignments w/o explaining them and then marks you down. Dont take him

Slimabch is incredible! He really stimulates your mind and challenges your ethics and worldview. I love the fact that there is so much class interaction as he values everyone's opinions and thoughts. I felt that the workload was fairly easy - library catalog research was the most difficult and even that was not too time consuming.

He's very strict on tardies and absences. You learn something from your cultural mentor, but won't learn anything from this prof. He doesn't know where he leading students. Weekly assignments are not hard but time consuming. If you don't mind writing, this class's gonna be easy.

I was totally not interested in the class, so that may have something to do with my rating. He is so unclear about assignments, and likes to change things up a bit, which confuses me. His assignments are designed to make you uncomfortable, which is ok, but a lot of work for such a small class.

THis guy has such an awesome heart! He has great stories. . . living in trees naked! The weekly papers are easy to write because they're about your own experience. THe only thing to be careful of is his attendance policy (he's really strict about tardies and absences).

Great teacher. Very challenging and introduces you to things you might not hear elsewhere. Did not agree with everything he said but there was a lot that has made a difference in my life.
